Natives of Mexico, the Rainbow Buntings are about the size of sparrows. They have blue wings, and yellow and orange breasts. The Hui Manu chose them for importation because of their colorful appearance and adaptability to Hawaii's climate. On arrival, the birds boarded zt the Kapiolani Bird Park throuch the courtesy of Director Paul Breese. Six pairs will remain at the zoo for the enjoyment the public.
