and Tile Manufactory, known as the Haigh Foundry and Brock Mill Forge, situate at Haigh, near Wigan, Lancashire, the centre of a most important manufacturing aud niining district, nearly equidistant between Liverpool and Manchester by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, and also equidistant between London and Glasgow by the London and North-Western Railway, and having direct canal communication between Liverpool, Manchester, and the eastern parts of Lancashire aud Yorkshire, and at present occupied by the Haigh Foundry Company, whose lease expires in the current year, and will be unrenewed ou account of the intended retirement from business of some members of the firm, who have carried on this large concern for the last twenty years. The iron works consist of a large foundry, on the banks of the river Douglas, with five cupolas and three air furnaces, drying stores, calculated for castings of the largest size fand a smaller foundry in cjnuection therewith, for less castings; extensive fitting-Hp shops, blacksmiths' and pattern makers' shops, iron warehouse, millwright' shop, office, drawing shop, foreman's house, large boiler yard and shed; with other yards, stables, and suitable outbuildings. The machinery, shafting, and furnace-blasts are driven by an engine of about 30 horses' power, aided by a powerful water wheel, driven by the river Douglas. The largest pumping engines and the most powerful factory engines in the kingdom nave been made at this foundry. The forge is driven by water and ate am power, and has all the capabilities and appliances for the carrying on of the extensive business by which the Haigh Foundry Company have been distinguished.

The spade trade has been largely carried on and upon the premises are Nasmyth'a steam aud other hammers, and a rolling mill. The firebrick and tile works comprise extensive buildings, containing grinding wheels driven by a steam engine, drying rheds, and kiln for burning. Tho fire clay is supplied from a pit adjacent to the works, and an excellent bed of brick clay exists on the surface, close to the premises. A gentleman's residence, a ma-iager's house aud garden, together with large number of cottages, are let with the premises, aud additional land may be had if required. A railway is already partly made, and intended to be at once extended into and through the iron works and the forge, which will connect the property with the London and Northwestern aud the Lancashire and Yorkshire tail ways.

The works are also situate within half-a-mile of the Lancaster Canal, with which they are connected by a good road. The continuous prosperity of these works is secured by a very extensive local as well as distant connection, and as they may be entered upon whilst in full operation, the advantage thereof may be secured to parties desirous of taking the same, who will nnd that they admit of almost unlimited extension. If desired, negotiations may be entered into for the iron works, the forge, and the brick works, separately.
