of Minnesota opened ita 1936 football Reason to-day with its eighteenth consecutive victory smashing the touted University of Washington Huskies 14 to 7 before a capacity throng of 37000 in Washington Stadium The thrilling triumph started the Gophers on their way toward another national championship and safely protected their undefeated record of three successive years Minnesota has rolled up record of twenty-five straight games without defeat but four ties were mixed with victories in 1933 8ince the last tie the Gophers have won eighteen in a row The big intersectional battle today was a tossup until the final period when the Minnesota warriors making their own breaks and taking advantage of them put over the winning touchdown on a perfectly executed pass Fumble Paves Way Just when It
