In 1923, Frit? came to Hawaii to set-ii the, Honolulu subsidiary. Fritz Herman was: educated in New- ark Public Rochester Business Institute and received his B.S.

degree from the School Commerce and Finance in the University, of Pennsylvania. His fraternity is Kappa Sigma. During World War II, Fritz Herman served in Naval Intelligence and received his honorary discharge as commander in the United States Naval Reserve. Fritz and Mrs. Herman, the former Elizabeth Renard, are parents and grandparents.

Their daughter, Mrs. Ian Smith, with her husband and son, live here. The Hermans' son, Fritz B. recently married Jane Lukens of Covina, Calif. He attends Santa Monica City College, and will return to Hawaii next month for summer school at the University of Hawaii.

Over the years, Fritz Herman has developed and managed a prosperous, progressive and influential business in the community; a business which has cpntributed largely toward improving the economy of the Islands by enhancing tourist trade relations. Under, his management, Kodak Hawaii, has grown, from an initial staff of 12 to of 140. The company built large, modern headauarters at 1065 KapiOlani Blvd. in 1939, and, last year added a $350,000 wing.
