COURIER NEWS Leachville Society—Personal Students Return Home Foi- Holidays A number of Leachyille students who are attending various colleges are expected to arrive home this week to spend their Christmas vacations with their families. Miss Dorothy Robinson will arrive Thursday from Rollins College at Winter Park, Fla., to be the guest of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. A .E, Robinson at their home at East View Acres. Miss Robinson, a junior, is a pledge of Chi Omega and a member of the debating team. Friday r.ight, she was given membership in Phi Kappa Delta, a national honorary fraternity, and at the initiation dinner'she was elected secretary and treasurer of the group." Jack Gibbins will arrive home Thursday to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Gibbins. He is a student in the medical school of the ..University of Arkansas, at Little Rock. Mrs. Sara Riggs will have,as he- guest for the holidays her grandson, Van Riggs, who attends Castle Heights at Lebanon, Tenn. A student at Arkansas State College at Jonesboro, Miss Juanita Turribow, will spend the Christmas holidays, with her parents. Freidman^Weinberg, who attends Washington University at St. Louis, will arrive this week to be with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Weinberg over the holidays. Steele-Gooter . Society— Personal Demonstration Club News Notes Farewell Party for Mrs. Russell Mrs. Bill Russell who is moving to Lexington, Tenn., was guest of honor at a handkerchief shower which was given by Mrs. Clarice Gitliland. Mrs. Sidney Miller Jr. and Mrs. Jim Miller Friday night when 20 friends from Cooter attended. Bridge. Chinese checkers and pitch were played at four tables, the high score award at bridge going to Mrs. Floyd Wagst'er, and low score to Mrs. Glynn White. High score at pitch went to Mrs. Tom Burns and low score to Mrs. James L. Cassidy; high score prize at checkers went to Mrs. Fenner Russell and low score to Mrs. Fred Vaughn. Refreshments of cookies and hot chocolate were served . * * * Waymon Webb, who underwent a tonsilectomy at Walls Hospital over the weekend, Is now recovering at his home. Floyd Fisher of Little Rock is visiting friends here this week. Lewis Woodard and Miss Lorena Casteman were visitors in Portageville Sunday.
