Can Home Making Provide A Career: James Irvine WOMAN GOES TO HOSPITAL Mrs Laura Thurman of Fresno was admitted to the Fresno County General Hospital last night for treatment for head injuries she says she received Saturday when she was struck by a brick at the hands of Clarence Thurman her husband Thurman disappeared after promising the police to appear on a battery charge filed Saturday by his wife She declared that Virginia had been highly nervous for a couple Of days and that without the knowledge of the family Virginia had at 2 o'clock yesterday morning called in Dr Kanner who gave her medicine Mrs Fitzgerald paid that Virginia had gone to the door and opend it for the doctor to leave The body was found on the floor of a garage behind an apartment building in the residential section Her features were burned almost beyond recognition She apparently did not move while flames burned her Tlhe garage is one of three individual units situated on an alley behind an apartment house at 1614 Twenty-fourth Street four blocks aoutheast of the Johnson home It faces south the front of it invisible to other houses due to trees and sheds It can be seen only from Twenty-fourth Street The rear door opens onto the backyard of the apartment building and faces a shed This door was open It would have been possible police said for the young woman to have been seized at the entrance to the
