The weekly tabloid revisited allegations that Ferraro and her family have links to organized crime figures. Holtzman also began broadcasting a similar radio ad. The statewide poll, conducted by the John Zogby Group of Utica, -had Democrat Clinton as the choice of 55 percent of those New Yorkers surveyed with Bush at 27 percent. In the poll, 16 percent were undecided and 2 percent supported other candidates.

The telephone poll of 839 registered voters was conducted Aug. 1 7-24 and had a margin of error of 3 points. In the Senate race, Ferraro was the choice of 31 percent of the 344 likely Democratic primary voters surveyed while state Attorney General Robert Abrams was at 18 percent. New York City Comptroller Elizabeth Holtzman was at 12 percent while civil rights activist Al Sharpton was at 10 percent. More than 29 percent of the Democrats said they were undecided.

For the Democratic survey, the margin of error was 5 points. A New York Daily News poll taken in late July had Ferraro at 42 percent; Abrams at 28 percent; Holtzman at 10 percent; and Sharp-ton at 4 percent.
