FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 1969 A I I I PAGE Jack Speiden Receives Tribute At Dinner By BETTY MILBURN Citizen Social Editor "From the Leading Arizonans paid tribute to long-time political figure Jack Speiden at a testimonial dinner, at Tucson' Country Club Wednesday evening. Gbv. and Mrs. Jack and Sen. Barry Goldwater headed the list of dignitaries lauding the activities of a man who, for a quarter of a century, has lent "mind and means for the good of the state." A gala atmosphere enve- loped the Tucson Country Club pavilion.

Dinner chairman Howard Miller greeted arriving guests, and flashbulbs popped as each was photographed with Mr. Speiden. These photos along with dozens of congratulatory letters a telegrams including one from President Nixon will be bound into book form for the honor- Walter Fathauer presided over a huge leather scroll' which each guest was asked to sign, and this was given Mr. Speiden at dinner. The music of Los Chan- guitos Fex added still another festive touch.

Speeches were warm and heartfelt and full of thanks. As Sen. Goldwater said, "Service is the rent we pay for space on this planet, and Jack Speiden has paid for his space in full." Mr. and Mrs. M.
