The winner of the first two Triple Crown races in 1989 died Sunday night from complications of a disease in his left foreleg. After going unsold at auction, Sunday Silence went on to win the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.

"Sunday Silence is probably the best horse I've ever ridden," jockey Pat Valenzuela said. "He was a super horse. I felt pretty bad this morning when I heard the news. He was a big part of my career. During that span, his progeny produced 457 winners, 43 in stakes races. Listen Here's Life In Jeopardy Associated Press SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. Listen Here, who won the Grade 2 Amsterdam Stakes Aug. 3, broke the sesamoid bones in his left front leg in a Monday morning workout, and his trainer said the 3-year-old's chances of survival are not good. "He is at his stall and stabilized with a ban-SARATOGA dage and a brace," Bill Mott said.

"I think the humane thing to do would be to euthanize the horse." Listen Here has four wins in 10 starts and has earned $287,480. He would have been one of the favorites for the Grade 1 King's Bishop Stakes Saturday. The colt is owned by Lewis Lakin. Listen Here would be the second stakes winner at this Saratoga meeting to die. Freedom's Daughter, who won the Grade 2 Schuylerville Stakes July 24, died of an intestinal disorder Aug.

12. Prado wins four: Jockey Edgar Prado won four races for the second straight day, including an-off-the pace victory aboard Eventail in the $58,000 featured allowance race at Saratoga. Eventail stalked the pace set by Tippity Witch in the lVis-mile turf feature, then took over on the turn and won by a length. Unbridled Vice finish second with Wander Mom third. Eventail paid $6.70, $3.50 and $3, Unbridled Vice $4 and $2.70, and Wander Mom paid $3.50 to show.
