Silver City Lenora Stogdill To Burn Church Mortgage Sun. On Sunday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m., the Silver City Baptist church will have a time of Fellowship and singing with Praise to God as the church mortgage is burned. Special music and a watermelon feed will be a part of the festivities. Everyone is welcome to attend.

FAREWELL SUPPER HELD FOR BICHEL FAMILY Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Bichel hosted a pot luck supper for their son and family, Chaplain and Mrs. Charles Bichel, Anthony and Kristin Sunday evening. Chaplain Bichel and family will be in Okinawa for three years serving for the Navy and Marines.

Attending were the Larry Bichel family, the Jim Bichel family, Mrs. Adolph Kay and Otto, all of Glen wood; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bichel, Omaha, Mr. and Mrs.

Vern Boch, Co. Bluffs, Rev. and Mrs. Bill Jurgens and family, Pickeral, Mr. and Mrs.

Louie Jurgens, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Deitchler, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bichel, Mineola, and Mrs.

Vera Schroeder. O'ROURKES CELEBRATED SILVER ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Donald O'Rourke celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Friday with mass, with Father Charles O'Rourke of Seoul, Korea, the main celebrant. Assisting him were Father O.L.

Kaufman, Father Jim Polisch, Father Jim Duffy, Father Jim Reyberg, and Father Colum Stanley. The mass was followed by a buffet dinner served to the 150 guests. The evening event was a aance which was held at the Glenwood Armory with over 200 guests coming from Omaha, Council Bluffs, Neola, Dow City, and the local area. A 7 8 oz. son was born Aug.

23 to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kirlin. He has been named Harry Thomas III. Grandparents are Mrs.

Charlene Kirlin, Silver City, and Mrs. Isabelle Coleman, New Orleans, La. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bryant, Silver City, and Mrs.

Lech Bryant, Oilman City, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. William Vorth- mann are the parents of a baby girl born Aug. 26, at 8 pounds 12 ounces.

They named her Rachel Lynn. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Bolte of Silver City, and Mr. and Mrs.

Richard Vorthmann of Treynor. Her great grandmother is Mrs. Ella Hartman of Mineola. Mr. and Mrs.

Ronald Bryant were Friday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kirlin and Harry Jr. in Council Bluffs. Mrs.

Fern Burgoin visited her sister, Mrs. Elsie Hielman, at Highland Acres in Red Oak this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Schoening were Thursday supper guests of the Bob Schoening family in honor of Delwyn's birthday.

Monday supper guests were Mr. and Mrs. El wood Plumer and family of Mineola. Mr. and Mrs.

Raymond Beam attended the 50th anniversary of Mrs. Beam's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields, of Burlington Junction, Sunday. Mr.

and Mrs. Fred Techau, Jr. and family, Fred Techau, the Frank Lincoln family, and Bonnie Grudle attended the Lincoln State fair Sunday. Mr. and Mrs.

Dick Pullman and Gina of Elma were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Pullman. Mr. and Mrs.

Keith Mintle and Kendall attended the 'Old Fiddlers Contest' in Brownville Sunday. They also enjoyed riding the 'Belle of Brownville'. Ruth Hanson of Northbend was a week end guest in the George Miller home. Enjoying a picnic at Bellevue Sunday were Mr. and Mrs.

Richard Osborn and daughter of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Mock and girls of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Al Swartz of Council Bluffs, Mr.

and Mrs. Robert Batten and family of Mineola, Martha Kelly and Linda Croson of Glenwood, the Delmar Decker family, Vera Mills, Charlotte and Randy. Major Robert Maines was a week end guest of Mrs. Laura Adair after taking his daughter Debbie to get enrolled in college. Friday overnight guests of Mrs.

Adair were Tammy Stewart and Lisa Stogdill, and Saturday guests were Diane Hoffman and Tammy Stewart. Marilyn Skerritt was in Jennie Edmundson hospital this past week for a flu virus. Ed Kruse has entered the Mercy hospital, and Earl Mabbitt has entered the Jennie Edmundson hospital. Sunday visitors at the Wayne Stewart home were Mr. and Mrs.

Art Freemore of Shenandoah, and Mr. Freemore's cousin and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson of California. Saturday visitors were Mrs.

Bob Lahey of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Bertha Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Martin are returning this week from a two weeks trip which has taken them to Los Angeles where they visited with Mrs.

Martin's brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson, and Mr. Martin's sister and families. Chris Roenfeld, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Richard Roenfeld, celebrated his second birthday Sunday with a barbecue dinner for family and friends. Dana Kelly of Beatrice, sister of Mrs. Bill Ramsey, was a week end guest in the Ramsey home. Mr.

and Mrs. Bud Kahl, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Schoening, and Mr. and Mrs.

Kenneth Evans spent Saturday and Sunday at the LeRoy Thornton home in Archer. They were Joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wing of Farragut and Mr. and Mrs.

Merle Harland of New Market; On their way to Archer they stopped at Orange City where the tulip festival it held annually, and towed a wooden shoe factory. Sunday they stopped at Okoboji and rode the 'Empress'. Mr. and Mrs. Bert McCol- tester, Mr.

and Cliff Schoening, and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Kahl went on the Co-op tour also saw the Kansas City and Baltimore Orioles ball game before returning Thursday. Thursday evening visitors at the Gerald Jones home was the Bob Telgren family of Council Bluffs. Mr.

and Mrs. Jerry JOMS, Julie and Judson were Friday visitors of Mr. and-Mrs. Dick Bowden and family of Glen' wood. Sunday Ed and Edna Kruse were dinner guests at the Paul Wilson home.

Paul Joined some friends to spend a few days in Minnesota on a fishing trip. Dirk Lincoln spent the week end at home before returning to Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois. Silver City Legion Auxiliary is planning a sale at the Goodrich Hotel in Council Bluffs on Sept. 11. All members art to bring their donated items to the Legion hall Wednesday afternoon.

and Mrs. Hoyt Hayden. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kahl of Mineola were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr.

and Mrs. Jim McCollester and Chad. Mr. and Mrs, Josh Alston, were Labor Day visitors 'of Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Sr. Mr. and Mrs. George Marshall Jr. and Dirk enjoyed the Missouri River Raft-Regatta Sunday.

They got to ride the boat with the officials from Blair to the Omaha Marina. The 33 mile race had from ISO to 200 rafts entered. a GET rum Prisoner's Jail Wedding is Off Mills County Sheriff Merle Brown''said Monday convicted murderer Steven Lybarger, 23, and Susan Marie Thompson, 18, Council Bluffs, have decided to "wait awhile" in their marriage Brown said Miss Thompson. visited Lybarger in the county jail Saturday night and the two indicated the wedding would be indefinitely postponed. Miss Thompson was to become Mrs. Lybarger Saturday after the original wedding Thursday was postponed when the bride entered Mercy hospital. Sheriff Brown had said earlier Miss Thompson's parents were not in favor of the wedding.

Lybarger is awaiting a ruling on his for a new trial following his May conviction of the slaying of Judy Pleas, 17, of Council Bluffs in 1973. The vent window of the 1964 Cadillac Hearse was broken and the 23 channel radio and roof antenna were taken from the vehicle.

Richardson estimated the radio's value at $500. Dale Richard Schultz, Co. Bluffs was involved in a single vehicle accident August 31 when he lost control of his 1964 Ford van on a curve on county road L31 near highway 370. The van was northbound when it left the roadway and landed on its right side in a ditch. Schultz was charged with OMVUI by sheriff's deputy Howard Clark.

Richard Earl Hoyt, Malvern pled guilty to charges of breaking and entering and larceny in the nighttime. He was granted a deferred sentence and placed on probation under the Bureau of Community Corrections for a two year period.

Twyla Fern Voss pled guilty to a charge of OMVUI and will be sentenced September 15. Larry Foster, charged with assault with intent to inflict great bodily injury was granted a continuance of arraignment until September 8. Harry Michaelson was also given a continuance of arraignment until September 8 on a charge of resisting execution of process.
