Rites Held for Lee Gillfillan Martin Lee GillfUian. sen of Adam and Sarah GilfUlan. was born Aug. IS. 1873 at Alba, Jasper County.

and passed away Sept. 29. 1968, at the age of 90 years, one month and one day at Pear! Terrace Manor. Bed ford, Iowa. As a young man he worked in the mines of southern Missouri and the harvest fields of the Great Plains States.

He Joined Co, ai the 168th Infantry of Red Oak and saw all the action of the Rainbow-, 42nd Division in World War 1. After the Army service he settled in Henderson where he operated a grocery store and meat market. "Butch" as everyone knew him, rented a sleeping room ol Charles and Zoa Araick and made his home with the Amicks for over 40 years. Upon the death of Mrs. Amick, Lee sold his store and moved to Blocteon to live with Mrs, Amicks neice, Vera Campbell.

After Mrs. Campbell's death he lived at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Campbell until moving to Pearl Terrace Manor at Bedford. Mr.

GiHfillan was preceded in death by his parents, and five sisters. He is survived by two neices. Resales Pugh of Carthage. and Ruth Gaberal of Ogden. Utah, one nephew, and numerous friends.

'Raymond Paul ami Harry Allen. The young mother diwi in 1913. He married Mrs. Myrtle tirosso of Tabor in 19M. ami she proctxted him in death in 1953.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Harry who died in Mr. Nelson, an elevator ami grin operator and a cattle feeder for 65 years, and also active in civic affairs. He was a member of the Malvern school board, a town councilman and former Mayor of Malvern, an honorary member of the Malvern Volunteer Fire Department, and for many years a member of the Board of Directors of the Malvern Trust and Savings Bank. He was a member of "the Malvern Masonic Lodge smd a past member of the Shriners. He is survived by one son, Raymond Nelson of Stanton: two stepdaughters.
