Daily Record, Morris County, N.J., Scam CONTINUED FROM A11 The victim in Monday's case, whose name was not released, is not elderly, Wieners said. "It's a common scam that's known there," Wieners said. He said of the victims are female and he hasn't investigated any cases in which men worked as the scam artists. However, further details about the crimes are difficult to ascertain, Wieners said, because victims are sometimes embarrassed and reluctant to disclose information. He said some such crimes go unreported.

Both of the suspects in this case are described as heavy Hispanic females. The younger woman, who said she was 21 and from Costa Rica, had black hair, black eyes and wore beige overall shorts and an orange' T- shirt, the victim told police. The older woman, who said she was 58, had long, curly blond hair with dark roots, and was wearing a floral pattern dress, the victim said. She claimed to be from Mexico. The charge in such a crime would be theft by deception.
