BeaaSsSaSBsSseStsI Defeat Kansas In Romp, 32-7 25,000 Watch Kings KnockOff Jayhaickers By SKIPPER PATRICK LAWRENCE, Sept. 25 (JR The UCLA Bruins, using bruising power, racked up three touchdowns in the first quarter and two more in the fourth today for an impressive 32-7 victory over Kansas game Jayhawkers.

An estimated 25.000 fans, including some 3,000 high school band members, sat in on a game that appeared a cinch to become a rout for. the Pacific Coast Conference defending champions. UCLA turned a Kansas fumble and a pass interception into touchdowns and ground out a genuine 56Vyard scoring drive the first three times jt got the ball. But Kansas came to life in the second period. Halfback Ralph Moody, individual star of the day, scored on an 82-yard punt return that fired up the Jawyawks for a lively battle.

Five of the Bruins shared in the touchdown making fullback Bob Davenport, halfbacks Jim Decker, Doug Bradley, Gerry McDougall and ponderous Jack Elena, a tackle. Davenport started it off early in the game, going over from one yard out after UCLA had recoverd a Kansas fumble on the 23. And when Decker followed with a 17-yard jaunt, climaxing a 56-yard drive a few minutes later, it looked like the Bruins were out for an almost unimpeded scamper. It looked even more like it when they intercepted a pass and Bradley promptly went over for the third score. But Moody's long punt return and Dick Reich's conversion put new life into the Kansans.
