Two sophomores, Paul Roten-berry and Jimmy Thompson, were responsible for the first two eix-pointers. Rotenbery scampered 48 yards for the initial TD, then Thompson set up the second score with a brilliant 56-yard sprint to the five, where George Humphreys carried across for the tally. Bill Brigman heaved a 23-yard pass to senior flankman Bill Sennett and the big boy scored standing up.

Senior Johnny Hunsinger circled right end nine yards for the fourth Tech tally. Show Neat Passers Georgia Tech displayed plenty e-f speed with their running game and also showed three neat passers in Bill Brigman, Wade Mitchell and Toppy Vann. The trio completed 12 of 25 tosses for 139 yards. Dodd used a total of 42 players in the game and despite the score the Georgia Tech mentor said 'Tech's offense and defense was ragged. They may have been ragged most of the time but several of those plays that went for trood yardage had some brilliant blocking.

A sophomore Toppy Vann from Chattanooga who 'joined the Tech squad too late to get his name in the program-flashed as a quarterback late in the game. He completed five ot five tosses and ran twice for 17 yards. Greenles Need Punch Tulane's green Greenies showed occasional brilliance but they did-not have any punch and lack experience in the clutches. They fumbled nine times and lost seven of these, five times when they mght have continued for scores. The Greenies showed some neat backs in Bobby Saia, junior full- Tutane a.

The Techsters gave the Virginia sophomore some brilliant blocking on the spine-tingling dash. Fumbles, which kept Tulane in trouble the entire first half, played a Dig part in the two Tech scores and they" knocked three Tulane drives in the head. Tech's second six-pointer was served up to the 29,000 fans exactly six plays after the first score. Foilowing the kickoff, the Wave's Caruso kicked a short spiral to Tech's Teas who got back to the Tech 33. Volkert got five yards, then Jimmy Thompson, the Bessemer, sophomore, raced through left guard, broke to the outside and raced 56 yards to the five where he was caught and knocked out of bounds by Jim Partridge.

Senior fullback George Humphreys hammered across for the TD. Tulane launced three serious scoring drives in the second quarter but. fumbles halted activities each trnie. The Greenies mobilized their biggest threat for a score a few seconds before the second quarter was over. Led by Earl Humbley and Bobby Saia, the Greenies drove 69 yards in 12 plays but were stopped when Hubley fumbled and Webster recovered from Tech on the 13.

Champions Warm Up One of Tech's strongest offensive weapons of the 1954 Cham-Brigman-to-Bill Sennett pass and this combination warmed up in championship style in the third quarter. Brigman threw two tosses to Sennett, both complete for 45 and 24 yards and they came in succession as Tech moved the 69 yards for a TD in four plays. Tech got another break when Wade Mitchell intercepted a Hub-ley pass and scampered back 34 yards to the Wave 32. Mitchell then heaved to Hair for 12 to the 19, but here Tech bogged down. The Jackets cranked up thier scoring game again in the fourth.

They traveled 32 yards in eight plays for their fourth TD. Hunsinger raced around right end from the nine for the score.
