WANTED Ironings. Used Autos For Sale Stuart Dunbar, Sportswriter, Dies COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Stu) Dunbar, 55, sports editor, of the Topeka, Journal died of a heart attack here last night. Dunbar collapsed in a hotel lobby after attending a banquet at the major-minor baseball convention. He was among 188 sportswriters and sportscasters Just before he was stricken, Dunbar had walked about five blocks from the City Auditorium, where the dinner was held, to the hotel.

He was accompanied by Art Kowalski, general manager of the Topeka baseball club. Dunbar collapsed while sitting on a lounge chatting with baseball figures. A fire department rescue squad administered oxygen but Dunbar was pronounced dead about 35 minutes after being stricken. Dunbar began his newspaper career as a sports writer on the Ottawa, Herald in 1922. He was named sports editor of the Salina, Journal in 1924.

iff) A Midwestern Baptist pastor who likes to climb mountains, the Rev. Dr. Edwin T. Dahlberg of St. Louis, today was elected president of the National Council of Churches.

He is the first Baptist ever to head the big coopereative Christian organization, which includes 30 Protestant and Orthodox denominations with 'about 37 million members across the nation, Ten other top officers, also were elected at the council's triennial General Assembly, its chief policy-making conclave. They w)ll serve until the next assembly three years hence. Dr. Dahlberg succeeds the Rev. Dr.

Eugene Carson Blake of Philadelphia, administrative head of the Presbyterian Church in the U.C.A. Dr. Dahlberg is a leader in American Baptist (Northern) Convention and has twice been its president. But his local congregation, the Delmar Baptist Church, is affiliated both with the American and Southern Baptist conventions, "A church with a Northern ac- and Southern exposure," it jas been called. The Southern Baptists, along with the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, are the only major U.S.
