Miss Mary Frances Young, sister of the groom, was attired in a similar gown of Mile green chiffon, with lace hat, an imported model, and kid shoes of the same tone of green. She carried Premiere roses. Mrs.

James McMahon, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and was beautiful in a French blue chiffon with lace hat and accessories of the same shade. Her bouquet was also roses. Little Miss Gloria Dawn Tabor, neice of the bride, in a smock frock of green and wearing a leghorn hat, dropped rose petals to make flowery the pathway for the bride. The bride entered on the arm of her brother, Mr. Malcolm Hood.

Her brunette beauty was enhanced by an oriental satin ensemble of old ivory hue. An Imported model lace hat, off the face and draped to the side, and shoes of the same rich old tone, completed a true bridal picture. She carried a bouquet of brides roses and valley lilies. Mr. Young chose as his best man, Mr.

Gordon Adgar of Shreveport. The ring ceremony was performed by Dr. George S. Sexton, of Shreveport, assisted by Rev. H.

M. Johnson of Ruston. The groomsmen were Messrs. Jack Fullilove of Shreveport and Marvin Phillips, of Monroe. The boutonniere of the men was a single bride's rose.

Mrs. J. Hood, mother of the bride, was atlred in lavender chiffon with lavender lace hat, and she wore a corsage of sweet peas. Mrs. Frank Young, mother of the groom, wore a flowered chiffon, Orchid and fuchsia shades predominating, with a black lace hat.

Her corsage was also sweet peas. Mrs. L. M. Hicks, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, grandmother of the groom, was in gray chiffon, with black lace hat.

She wore violets. The out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. L. Frank Youngk, Miss Mary Frances Younf, Mr.

and Mrs. T. E. Amiss, Miss Marie Amiss, Mr. and Mrs.

Hood, graduated from the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute and was a popular member of the 1927 class. Since then, she has been teaching home economics. Mr. Young Is the only son of Mr. and Mrs.

L. Frank Young of Shreveport. He Is a graduate of Centenary and is a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Prior to the wedding day the bride was honor guest at numerous social affairs, among them several beautiful showers. After a motor trip Mr.

Young will take his bride to their new home which he has Just completed and furnished, in ChenJore, where he Is in the lumber business. Pierian Club Meeting Saturday Afternoon Clones Club for the Summer. Mrs. J. G.

Ray and Mrs. C. C. Goyne were hostesses to the Pierian Club on Saturday afternoon, at the last meeting of the season. The meeting was held In the home of Mrs.

Ray's sister; Mrs. W. E. Leckie. The president, Mrs.

Ray, dispatched the business of the club, which brought to a close a very successful year, in hei' usual easy manner. The club's scholarship fund now amounts to $669.30, and is being used by four young women who are Tech graduates, as students. The program of study for the year, the subject of which was "Art," in its various branches, was arranged by Mesdames Paul Davis, W. C. Simonton and John Staples.

It proved to be one of the most fascinating and instructive which has been undertaken by the club. A "Quiz" was conducted by Mrs. Simonton to test the memory of the members, and to ascertain tlie amount of knowledge gained. At the close of the business session, the outgoing president turned the gavel over to Mrs. Poole Roblson, the newly elected president, wtio accepted it with a few well chosen remarks.

During the social session the served a refreshing ice course, after which the guests were privileged to inspect the rare and beautiful collection of claim and bric-a-brac which the home of Mrs, Leckie so fittingly.
