Most recently, he did air work on WINS Radio in New York City. Among his television activities, Richards produced the "Stan Richards Show," a weekly bandstand program on WBZ-TV in Boston. He also has appeared on WJAR-TV, Providence, R.I.: WHUR-TV, Manchester, N.H., and WNAC-TV and WIIDH-TV in Boston. The "New England Disc Jock-key of the year" in 1955, Richards also was named winner of the "Gillette Safety Razor Company Popularity was rated as New England's number one disc jockey of the year in 1956-57 by a New England PULSE survey; and was in the cent United Press radio and television popularity poll. Richards is married to the former Miss Roxanne Delman, a New York and California model.

A native of Beverly Hills Mrs. Richards has appeared in various movies and is currently featured on the covers of several record albums. The couple has two sons, ages 14 and 12. 1 1 rem 1. Already well-known in this area for his work in radio as well as television, Benton comes to WCCB-TV as staff announcer and sports director from WSFA-TV. Benton's hometown is Guthrie, Ky. However, he received his schooling in Tennessee and South Carolina. He attended Webb School in Bell Buckle and was graduated from West High in Nashville, Term. He moved to South Carolina where he attended Furman University in Greenville, and then moved back to Nashville where he graduated from the Tennessee School of Broadcasting.

Benton's first job was in radio at WLFA in LaFayette, Ga. From there he went to WGNS Radio in Murfreesboro, and then on to WENO Radio in Nashville. In August, 1959 he came to Montgomery to work for WAPX Radio. He joined the staff of WSFA-TV in March, 1961. Married with two sons and a daughter, Benton and his family are members of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church and live in the South section of Montgomery.

Another young man you'll be seeing a lot of is Jack Venable, weatherman at WCCB-TV. Born in Wetumpka, Venable is a 1956 graduate of Wetumpka High School and a 1961 graduate of Auburn University. He is a member of Delta Sigma Pi, honorary business fraternity, the National Association of Educational Broadcasters, and the Auburn Players, theatrical group. Venable comes to WCCB-TV with prior experience as a part-time announcer at WETU in Wetumpka, a staff announcer at WRFS in Alexander City, an announcer, production assistant, director, and finally producer-director at the Auburn studios of the Alabama Educational Television Network, and a staff and sports announcer at WAUD in Auburn.
