a The Montgomery Aduertiser FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 1979 Court supports officer in suit A suit filed against a security officer employed by the Montgomery Police Department was decided in favor of the officer Thursday. The suit, alleging that the officer, Charles Stanley, was corrupting another man's wife, was decided in a summary judgment issued by Circuit Judge Joseph Phelps. Stanley, who has been identified by Police Chief Charles Swindall as a gate at the city lot, was sued as a "police officer" who was using his office "in an abusive and harassing manner against plaintiff's wife." Raymond Goodwin is the plaintiff who filed the suit that asked for $25,000 in damages and alleged that Stanley was operating a brothel with Goodwin's wife. Goodwin, who is serving time in a federal correctional institute in Texas, charged that Stanley was contributing to Mrs. Goodwin's entering a life of crime.

Stanley also was accused of breaking up the Goodwins' marriage. Goodwin alleged that Stanley offered protection for Mrs. Goodwin in return for her services as a manager of the "other girls" at the brothel. Group honors environmentalist John W.
