Women have boss night The first annual Boss night and membership dfive meeting of the Olympic Peninsula Insuf ance Women was opened by Vice President DeLaine Sund in the absence of President Grey Mobson. Entertainment was the reading of a story written by the girls of the Syd Tozier Insurance Agency. The dinner was primarily to honor Lorretta Wallace, who retired recently. She was given a lifetime membership in the Olympic Peninsula Insurance Women and was presented with gifts. Mrs.

Sund had made a cake for Mrs. Wallace. After dessert the following officers for the 1977-1978 term were announced. DeLaine Sund (Syd Tozier and Associates) president; Jane Allen (Syd Tozier and Associates) vice president; Beverly Roaf (Gellor Insurance Agency) secretary; Sue Hewlett (Seattle First National Bank) treasurer; and Brenda Handly (Shold Insurance Agency and Patricia Ledbetter (Syd Tozier and Associates) board members. The purpose of the club is to better inform the community about insurance and to try to get people from all phases of industries, having anything at all to do with insurance, involved.

The club is working with the schools and in the coming school year will be giving talks on insurance to classes, such as the driver education classes. The Olympic Peninsula Insurance Women are also working with the Port Angeles Police Department donating medals for the school safety patrol. Last year the insurance women have also worked on fire prevention with the Port Angeles Fire Department. VFW Post Advocate Julian Meek gave the obligation to William Richards as Senior vice commander and Ted Phillips as junior vice commander, at the VFW Post 1024 and Auxiliary meeting at the Veterans Center. Bobbi Jo Yantz was appointed flag bearer for the auxiliary.

New officers will assume their duties after the state convention next week in Renton, Attending from Port Angeles will be Cmdr. James and Stella Machenhetmer, President LaVerne and Julian Meek, District Commander Fred and District senior vice president Katherine Feakes, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shepher. Mr.

and Mrs. Kenneth Grace Minnix, national senior vice president, will be the national representative at the VFW Auxiliary convention. A benefit cancer breakfast will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14 at the Veterans Center.

Nerxt regular meeting will be July 1 at the Veterans Center. Retired Persons Members of the Sequim chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons will wind up the year's activities with a potluck picnic at noon Friday at the home of Martha Herbert on Gupster Road, west of the Dungeness River. Those wishing to go THE DAILY Port Angeles, Thursday, June 9, 1977 together will meet at the Sequim Community Center at 11 a.m. Each person attending must bring table service, food and a folding chair if possible. Coffee and tea will be provided.

Sequim Rebekahs Honored guest nt a recent meeting of Sequim Rebekah Lodge was Dora Beavnier, district deputy president from Mizpah Lodge 11, Port townsend. There will be a "Sisterhood Night" at Wednesday at Mt. View Lodge Plans were made to make a fraternal nsit to the lodges in Victoria, B.C. June 16. The next meeting will be a memorial service.
