Four awards were presented by members of Heart of Chesapeake Country Heritage Area Management Board for outstanding efforts to preserve heritage. East New Market Mayor Carline Cline presented the heritage award for Outstanding Project to the organizers of the annual East New Market Heritage Day, set the first Saturday of Octo- ber at Faith Community United Methodist Church. The church and surrounding community have links to Rev.

On the Democratic side, 1,735 votes were cast for Christopher Robinson of Trappe, running unopposed in the Maryland Senate primary. Dorchester Democratic voters for House of Delegates seats saw 674 votes cast for House of Delegates 37A candidate Sheree Sample-Hughes. In District 37B, Dorchester Democrats cast 884 votes for Rodney Benjamin and 699 votes for Keasha Haythe.
