Quite awhile ago a colleague recommended the 94th Bomb Group restaurant at the Essex County Airport as a fun place to take children. When we found ourselves looking for ways to entertain a very tiny house guest, we remembered the suggestion, which turned out to be a fun place for grownups as well. Part of the Specialty Restaurants chain owned by David Tallichet, the 94th Bomb Group has been at this recreational airport for 14 years.

We found the food to be good to excellent and, at $17.95 per person, reasonable.

Our guest was charged the "baby brunch" price of 99 cents. The wartime atmosphere prevails inside as well, with posters, photographs, model warplanes, and a bomb inscribed "for And vintage music. The building itself suggests the French or Italian coun tryside, with lots of brick and stucco, beamed ceilings, and multiple fireplaces. One end displays mock bomb damage, and the tail of a war-plane juts from the roof.
