George Denny, 92, sanitation worker died Wednesday at Morris View MORRISTOWN George Denny nursing home in Morris Township after a short illness. He was 92. Born in North Wilkesboro, N.C., he lived in Greensboro, N.C., before moving to Morristown 10 years ago. Mr. Denny was a sanitation worker for the city of Greensboro and was retired.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Bason of Morristown and Juanita Neal of Greensboro; a son, George G. Jr. of Morristown; and 14 grandchildren. Rosina Lawrence, of 'Our Gang' films NEW YORK (AP) Rosina Lawrence, who appeared in the "Our Gang," "Little Rascals" and Laurel and Hardy classics, has died. She was 84. Miss Lawrence, who lived in Brooklyn and on Mackinac Island, died June 23 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. Miss Lawrence was known off screen as Rosina Marchisio-McCabe. She danced, sang and acted in the 1920s and '30s, appearing in vaudeville and films, from comedic shorts to musical extravaganzas like "The Great Ziegfeld" of 1936.

In "Way Out West" (1937), Miss Lawrence played Mary Roberts, a scullery maid and unsuspecting heiress whom Laurel and Hardy tracked to a bar in Brushwood Gulch. Her movies included "Ten Dollar Raise," "Your Uncle Dudley," "Music Is Magic," "Charlie Chan's Secret," "Pick a Star," "Connecticut Yankee," with Will Rogers, "Disorderly Conwith Spencer Tracy, and "Reckless," with Jean Harlow. She was cast as the new teacher, Miss Lawrence, in a series of "Our Gang" shorts, including "Bored of Education," which won an Oscar. Her last professional appearance was in an Italian film in which she played an American in Italy, "In Campagna Caduta una Stella" (1939). It was not released in the United States until 1950 and it was called "In the Country Fell a Star." She married a Brooklyn lawyer, Juvenal P.

Marchisio, who became a New York judge and a leader in the post war relief efforts for Italy. He died in 1973. She i is survived by her husband, John C. McCabe, the movie biographer; two daughters, Rosina Mo, of Bracciano, Italy, and Margaret Romairone, of Manhattan; a son, Juvenal of Rockleigh, N.J., and five grandchildren. Matthew M.

Luther, 33, municipal financial officer JEFFERSON TWP. Matthew M. Luther died Saturday at Englewood Hospital in Englewood after a short illness. He was 33. Born in Denville, he lived most of his life in Parsippany.

He lived in Hamburg for six years and in the Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson for four years. He spent his summers in Chatham, Mass. Mr. Luther was the chief municipal financial officer for Roxbury since 1995 and Hamburg since 1988 and held that position in Butler from 1991 to 1997. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from St.

Peter's College in Jersey City in 1985. He was a 1981 graduate of Morris Catholic High School. He was a member of St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany. He was vice president of the Morris County Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association.

He also belonged to the New Jersey Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association, the New Jersey League of Municipalities and the New Jersey Government Finance Officers Association. He was a commissioner for the Morris County Joint Insurance Fund. His mother, Irene, died in July 1984. Survivors include his father, Henry N. III of Parsippany; a brother, Michael M.

of Parsippany; a sister, Patricia A. of Mount Rainier, his grandfather, Henry N. of Vero Beach, his companion, Robert C. Hendricks of Lake Hopatcong; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parisppany.

Neil S. Lawson, 84, formerly of Morris Plains SARASOTA, Fla. Neil S. Lawson died June 30 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Sarasota. He was 84.

Born in Bremerton, he lived in Florida for 10 years. Prior to that, he lived in Morris Plains for 35 years. Mr. Lawson was the owner and president of Olsen and Lawson Construction Co. in Dover.

He was a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge 1 Free and Accepted Masons in Mountain Lakes. He was a member of the Bird Key Yacht Club in Sarasota, a former member of the Sara Bay Country Club in Florida and a former member of the Rockaway River Country Club in Denville. He belonged to the U.S., Metropolitan, New Jersey State, and Jersey Senior Golf associations. Survivors include his wife, Eileen M.F.

(McLaughlin); three daughters, Virginia Costanzo of West Palm Beach, Kathleen Piper of Newton and Ellen Eppie of Morristown; a brother, Craig of Seattle; a stepsister, Emily Trenholm of St. George, Utah; and six grandchildren. Rocco Cavico died Saturday at Country Manor Nursing Home in Toms. River. He was 77. Born in Newark, he had lived in the Holiday City South section of Berkeley. Mr.

Cavico was a letter carrier at the Vailsburg Post Office for 35, years, retiring in 1985. He served in the Army during World War II. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Post in Parsippany. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toms River.

His first wife, Margaret died in 1985. His brother Anthony died in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Ciccarelli); two daughters, Mary Elizabeth DePaul of Lake Hiawatha and Grace Neumaier of Rockaway; a stepson, Joseph Mangano of Newark; a brother, John of Toms River; two sisters, Lucille Cherchia. and Roselle Mostachio, both of Florida; two grandchildren; three. step-grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
