COMMERCIAL, ReTlew of the New Orleans Market. I From Ike Oricant Price -Current" ofJpril 15. RKMABits. Our nrinciaal staples of export have at tracted i good deaf of attention, and the market main-, tains a steady and firm aspect. COTTON-Arrived since the 7th instant 17,121 bales.

Cleared in the same time 22,822 bale making a reduction in stock of .4,701 bales, and leaving on hand, inclusive of all on ship-board not cleared ou the 14th instant, a Mock of 156,977 bales. The transactions in Cotton in the first of the week were on an extensive scale, and an advance of 41 of ccub hi viK.cs rr aa iiuiaiucu iui uie lower aescnpr tions. in which chiefly all of the business had been rWa The demand since then has continued good, but in con sequence 01 me greauy reouceu nocK on sale, and the very high rates which holders have been asking especially during the last day or two, buyers have'ceased to oterate so freely as before, although they have had the benefit of a slight improvement in the rates of Ex-hange, and a further decline in the rates of FreiehL But very few transactions bave taken place in the finer grades, chiefly ou account of theirscarcity, and we can iwt quote any positive change of prices for them, but the ordinary and middling qualities have advanced 4 22Li brace 27,700 bales! There i. a moderate business doing in barrel PorkfPriiicipally in limited parcels for plantation orders. The prices are well maintained, as the stock of all qualities Is unusually light for the season. Our quotations are tor Clear at S3 ou, Mess 7 50, So 50 titf 75, Prime 25, 25 bbL Bulk Pork' Mill scarce and wanted. Good lots of Hog-round would command 2J2 cents 4P" Hi.

Small parcels retail at 2S3 cents. BEEF. The stock is light, but the market remains very inactive, at about former rates say for Western Mess $7 50 bbl da in half bbls $4 50 Prime 84 75 BACON. A very fair demand bas existed for Sides and Shoulders, which have lieen scarce for several weeks past, and sales of these have been pretty readily effected, generally at 3 cents for Sides, small lots bringing Si3i cents Shoulders 212i cents. Hams are still plenty, and comparatively dull, at 435 cents lb for uncanvatsed, and 638 for canvassed and extra curel.

LARD. Sales to some extent bave been made at 5t ft 6 cents according to quality, and a Choice lot of about 100 kegs, just arrived, brought 6 cents.
