This report is gratifying; but the papers still urge the citizens to be cautious, for physicians say that for the past day or two the disease has been on the in crease again.

From Havana, the correspondence of the Courier contains nothing ofa political charac tor of any interest. It is mostly occupied, therefore, with local intelligence.

On the verv morning on which the dyer in Calle San Ra fael was murdered, of which we have already had accounts, a silversmith's shop in the same street was entered by burglars, and a large amount of property (silver ware, watches, carried off. A party of marine (Spanish) officers were proceeding a few days ago on a party of plea sure to Mariann, a pretty Kttlo village, about three leagues from tho city, when the passage of their carriage was stopped by a rope stretched across the road. A mild form of cholera had appeared at Sagua la Grande. About half past 5 o'clock on the evening of the l'Jth the Spanish steamers of war Isabella Segunda and Ulloa left Havana, the former having a coasting schooner in tow.

She was (on the 21th) heeling off shore every tide, is badly hogged, and her euds are working out. The cabin furniture has all been saved.

That portion of the cargo landed on the beach is stated to be in good condition. We regret to hear that Capt. Brown, an ener getic agent of the underwriters, met with a severe accident on Friday, the 21st, by having his leg broke by the tackle while landing goods from the vessel. The board of underwriters went down in a body to visit the wreck of tho steamshrp Franklin, and to hold a sort of coroner's inquest on her remains, on behalf of the in surance oCices. Meantime, the new steamer, the St Louis. is getting ready to supply the place of the Franklin on the Havre line, and is expected to be ready to leave on her first voyage, about the 1st of August. The secretary of the board of underwriters of New York had received a letter, stating that the iron setamer Isaac C. She is said to have been built at Vilmingtop, and was intended to ply on the Nicaragua lake.

The news is not of any very great general interest, further than what may be found under our El Paso and Corpus Christi heads. There wa i a destructive gale in Cook county on the night of the 28th, occasioning much loss of projicrty and life. Capt.
