Used To Prevent Encephalitis ALBANY (AP) State Health Commissioner Dr. Hollis S. Ingraham said today that 12,000 acres in Central New York will be sprayed in an 1 effort to prevent a possible outbreak of a sleeping sickness disease. He also issued a warning to residents of Oswego County, where the spraying will take place, to avoid exposure to mosquitoes which carry the disease Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The spraying of the land north of Oneida Lake results from the discovery that a horse died from the disease, department spokesmen said.

"If you don't nip it in the bud, it can spread into the human population and then you have a very serious problem," the department spokesman explained. Murphy, heading toward a department showdown over police corruption, says narcotics dealers offering policemen $10,000 bribes to overlook illegal drug trade. Murphy charged in a radio interview Monday night that "literally dozens" of officers have succumbed to temptation and accepted such bribes in recent years. -Anna Covaleski, of 447 Leon Drive, Endicott, formerly of 329 Clinton died Monday morning at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a brief illness. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Celia) Kelley, Binghamton; Mrs. John (Rita) Hanitchak, Bloomington, Mrs. Peter (Faith) Angelas Endicott; one son, Edmund T.

Covaleski, Binghamton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson and Lena Morrissey both of Binghamton; two brothers, Thomas Hirsko and Frank Hirsko both of Binghamton; also several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Cyril and Method Church and its Rosay Society. She was a member of the First Ward American Legion Auxiliary and the Gold Star Mothers.

Etta R. Flynn, 92 of Deposit, died Sunday in Binghamton. She is survived by a niece, Miss Levina McClure, Croton-on-Hudson, N. Y. She was a lifetime resident of the area, and a member of the Deposit WCTU.

at the Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Mary (Lisi) Jachimowicz, Horseheads; his mother, Mrs. Anna Jachimowicz, Binghamton; six brothers, Edward and Lawrence Jachimowicz, Endwell; Alfred Jachimowicz, Woodbridge, SP Eugene Jachimowicz, Ramey AFB, Aquadila, Puerto Rico; SFC Floyd Jachimowicz, Johnson City; Stanley Jachimowicz, San Diego, five sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Marie) Owczaryk; and Miss Adele Jachimowicz both of Binghamton; Mrs.

Vincent (Veronica) Sierzant, Vestal; Mrs. Raymond (Sabina) Michalski, Wilkes-Barre, Mrs. Joseph (Joann) Pozzi, Endwell; one aunt, Sister Mary Sabina, Buffalo; one uncle, Clemens Abramowicz; and also several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. He was a member of St. Mary Our Mother Church of Horseheads and its Holy Name Society.

He was employed by the Brady Supply of Elmira and was formerly employed by the Westinghouse Supply of Vestal and Elmira. He was a Veteran of World War I1 having served in the United States Coast Guard. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 m. from the Laskowski Funeral Home, 367 Prospect Binghamton, and at 9 a. m.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Joslin, Whitney Point; one son, Kennith Joslin, Whitney Point; three grandchildren, Christine, Jeff and Jean Joslin all of Whitney Point; one brother, Ben W. Satterlee, Chicago, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Whitney Point and the B.P.O.E. Lodge 852, Binghamton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Nichols Funeral Home, Whitney Point with the Rev. David L. Davis, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Whitney Point officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Ostrander, Chenango Bridge; a half sister, Mrs. Blanche York, Owego and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Boulevard United Methodist Church, the Russell Potter Class of the church and a former trustee and member of the official board. He was a retired district manager of the Nationwide Insurance Co.

He was a 50-year member of the Frank A. Johnson American Legion Post 758 and the Last Man's Club, Johnson City and the Johnson City Lodge 970. He was also a member and past noble grand of the Calumet Lodge 62 100F of Binghamton. He was the past president of the Chenango Valley Kiwanis Club and life member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. The funeral and committal services will be held at 1:30 p.

and Carl H. Peterson Miami, two brothers in Sweden; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Holmstrom, Scarboro, Maine and Mrs. Johann (Elsa) Cook. Rome, Georgia; also several grandchildren.

He had resided in Binghamton. until 1954 and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, 71 Main Binghamton. PIZZOLO-Frank Pizzolo, 75, of 1245 Conklin Conklin died after a long illness at the Willow Point Nursing Home, Monday afternoon.

He is survived by two foster daughters, Mrs. Donald (Michelena) Batcheller, Conklin, Mrs. Fred (Josephine) Walling, Vestal; three foster sons, Fred and Dominick Parrotti, both of Binghamton, Samuel Parrotti, Havelock, N. also several grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War serving with the Motor Transport Corps.

He was a retired shoe worker of Dunn and McCarthy Shoe Mfg. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church Binghamton. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a. m.

at the Patrick M. Grizzanti Funeral Home, 188 Court Binghamton and at 9:30 a. m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated.
