But inmates that suffer addictions are not on their own if they are sentenced to a jail term. Ron Schoneman of the Alcoholism Council goes to the jail "Immediate help was the best kind," he said. "I didn't expect to solve everyone's drug and alcohol problems, but it helped some. A lot stuck with the program they knew there would be dire consequences if they didn't." Defendants sentenced to treatment Journal Staff related may include taking part in a rehabilitation program.
