The suspension of Edward Oorrigaa by the executive committee of the Washington Park Club, debarring him from aU track controlled.

ly the American Turf Congress, called for to. a great deal of comment to-day. The club's secretary. J. E.

Brewster, in reply to an inquiry stated that far as he Jcnew there was no animosity against Corrigan by the jadgea with whom he had interfered. It is kiutl uu good authority, however, that Mr. Corrigan and one of the-judges, L. Tar i ton of Kansas City, axe not on speaking terms and have not been for three years. The inference is that Corrigan, seeing his jockey being addressed by Tarlton, was not open to severe criticism from bursting out with an order to pay no attention to the judge's remanc.

The refusal by the managers of the club to act in ths dagrant case in which Hawkins' horse Jacobin was pulled, undoubtedly for gambling purposes, is being strongly contrasted with the measures taken against Corrigan. whose bonesty ha not at all been in question. Con coming Uus phase of tne matter. tlio Times to-morrow -will say: "The position of the club is, tnac a man can Eull a horse at tho Washington park if wants to. and no consequence will ensue, but if be loses his temper he must be punished."
