We read in the Nashville Banner, of the 11th: Trouble is anticipated shortly between the Ku and the negroes at Columbia. Some the latter have warned the Ku Klux that they will resist to the last any encroachments upon them, and that when they start they will start with bullet and torch, and sweep everything in their way. There is considerable excitement at Columbia in consequence of this unexpected demonstration by the blacks, and fears are entertained that bloodshed may follow. The Radicals at Shelby viae, where the Ku Klux appeared in force on the niizht of the Fourth of July, have armed themselves and threaten if the Ku Kim again make their appearance, to shoot them from their saddles. The St. Helena Star and Journal learns that the corn crop in Washington and Livingston parishes were never better. The same paper acknowledges the receipt of early corn, thoroughly ripe.

As to the agricultural pros pects of the parish our conteniporiry says The prospects of our farmers for abuudant crops of corn, cotton, peas and potatoes, are excellent. Inere was never, perhaps, as much corn planted iu this parish as now aud the prospects for a large yield are good. The cotton planted this season covers about one third lees superiici.il area than that planted last year; though some of onr planters think that the crop of this year will be larger than 1867. From the Empire (Plaquemines) Parish, we learn that cane looks well, and that rice cutting will begin about the "th Our contemporary says a local farmer has found a watermelon in his field weighing fifty pounds. The Ilouma Civic Guard, of the 11th, says the season continues highly lavorable for crops.

The Feliciana Ledger hears encouraging accounts of the crops in the pine wood section. There have been several line showers in Tensas, greatly improving the crops. The Opelousaa Journal, of July 11, says: The reports from all quarters of the parish relative to the growing crop, continue to be of the most encouraging character. Corn, cotton, potatoes, and indeed everything planted and cultivated hereabouts, have never within the memory of the oldest inhabitants been better. There have been partial or isolated showeia in Ouachita parish.

The Telegraph says Wherever the rain descended in any quantity the crops have been greatly benefited, particularly corn, as we heard one farmer say that bis corn crop was increased 1500 bushels. THE CITY. The Weather. The thermometer at 0 o'clock this morning was at 77 aud at 10 o'clock had risen to 86'. Very little, if any breeze was stirring during the forenoon, and the heat was unpleasant and oppressive in the extreme. A few clouds in the early part of the day betokened rain, but these cleared off, and the sun shone out bright and intense.

Edward Joeih is a very bad man. if all reports of his misdoings are correct. He not only disturbs the peaoe the neighborhood in whioh he resides, but inflicts bodily nain on all who come in his way. Under the influence yesterday of some slightly exhilarating liquid, he made sad havoc with the furniture of certain domiciles on Trem street, abused the inmates outrageously, and performed sundry other little pleasantries that secured him a night's entertainment the lockup. There are a few more individuals like Edward Joseph in the city, whom would be well to look after, lest they occasion more grief.

In Trouble Again. Albert Jennings not regarded by those who know him best as most honest individual in the city. In deed Albert's social standing and "good name" are below par. No doubt Albert will suffer to day at the hands of the Recorder for this evil reputation Which his enemies have heaped on him.
