FBI agents said Dublin police picked ui a suspect Tuesday. They took his fingerprints and matched them with a FBI wanted report on Maloney. Federal agents said they will be gin extradition proceedings to return Maloney to Rochester. Mrs. Maloney attended a birthday party for her fiveyear-old son at Maloney's home on May 27, 1967.

She drank what appeared to be two vodka and orange juice cocktails at the party and became ill. Two days later she was taken to a hospital in a coma and never regained consciousness, police said in 1967. By DICK COOPER Gannett News Service DUBLIN, Ireland An investigation into a confidence racket in Dublin has led to the arrest of a Rochester man accused of murdering his wife six years ago, the FBI reported Wednesday. Joseph Michael Maloney, 37, has been sought on the murder charge since he escaped from the Rochester State Hospital Sept. 25, 1967.

Maloney, self-employed explosives contractor, was arrested June 5, 1967, hours after his estranged wife, June Maloney, 27, died of methyl (wood) alcohol poisoning. 1 MEI 1 22.00 Open Monday, August 27 for your back-to-school shopping convenience DRESSES, SECOND FLOOR 1 Mrs. Maloney was a head nurse at another hospital. She and her husband separated two-months before her death. Maloney was jailed and indicted on a charge of murder.

On Sept. 12, 1967 he was committed to the State Hospital for a court-ordered psychiatric examination. Sometime the next week he apparently fashioned a key from an electric shaver part and used it to unlock the door to his hospital ward, police said. In November 1967, his lawyers made a newspaper appeal asking Maloney to surrender. He made arrangements to surrender to Rochester detectives in Buffalo but never showed up.

Police said they believed Maloney was in Monroe County in November 1967, and accused him of cashing 81,600 in bad checks that month. He was last seen in the Rochester area in July 1968 when a motorist reported seeing Maloney driving in a suburb. Once again he escaped arrest. In October 1967, the FBI issued an unlawful flight to avlid prosecution warrant for Maloney and sent wanted posters with his photograph and fingerprints around the country and to foreign police agencies. Local agents said in the last six years Australianiand Canadian police have helped in the search for Maloney.

Watertown Dislikes Alleghany Continuance 3y THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Officials of Ogdensburg and Massena say they are pleased by Allegheny Airlines' decision to temporarily keep commuter air service in northern New York. The reaction from Watertown was cooler. Allegheny had planned to replace the Air North service Oct. 1 with one daily flight of its own to Ogdensburg and Massena and to continue its wic e-daily Watertown-New York City service. A lawyer for the three communities objected to the plan in a brief filed with the Civil Aeronautics Board in last Friday.

He disputed Allegheny's contentions that the Air North service was a money-loser and required large subsidiec The comments came Wednesday in the wake of Allegheny's announcement that it had changed its mind about dropping its contract with Air North a commuter line providing five daily flights between the communitieq and Syracuse. 66 'MTN ElLINII ITHACA THE a A cfltii BEEE2 el eDE DEC 0 NEEE62 A "You've Got To See ft To Believe ft" Ithaca Shopping Plaza Elmira Rd.
