For awhile, according to the Denver Post story, Solano was not expected to survive the broken neck, but in fact, has even gone home from the hospital to visit his wife Edna Ruth three children, Lorraine Marie, 3, Patrick, 13, and Mary Catherine, 12. Solano is totally paralyzed in legs and left arm.

Rehabilitation is Solano's goal. However, the Colorado State Rehabilitation Department turned down his request for assistance in obtaining a special motorized wheel chair designed by other Denver area quadriplegic.
