Two-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker withdrew yesterday from the $815,000 Player's International tennis tournament in Toronto with injuries to both feet that could keep him out of the U.S.

Open. Becker, who defeated John McEnroe in straight sets in the final of the U.S. Hardcourts championship Sunday in Indianapolis, was diagnosed as having plantar fasciitis in his feet, Dr. J.P. Scbaman said.

He said Becker has a "50-50 chance" of healing in time for the Aug. 29-Sept. 11 U.S. Open. FOOTBALL-Boz gets NCAA interested Now the NCAA wants to read Brian Bosworth's book.

The former Sooner linebacker, now playing for the Seattle Sea-hawks in the NFL, alleged in his soon-to-be-released autobiography that Oklahoma teammates used cocaine and steroids and committed various NCAA violations. Chuck Smrt, assistant to NCAA enforcement director David Berst, said yesterday that all the publicity caught the NCAA's attention. The NCAA is already investigating the Oklahoma football program for possible recruitment violations. Former Houston Oilers running back and Heisman Trophy winner Earl Campbell remained hospitalized in Houston yesterday after being admitted over the weekend for severe chest pains. The 1977 Heisman Trophy winner from Texas said he first got chest pains while playing golf in Austin last Monday and again in Houston on Saturday.

Doctors have been running extensive tests, but have detected no heart problems. The Chicago Bears arrived in Sweden after the longest road trip in the club's history yesterday, a week before their NFL exhibition game against the Minnesota Vikings. BOXING: Lora win may be reversed Traces of two banned drugs were found in the urine of World Boxing Council bantamweight champion Miguel Lora of Colombia after his 12-round title defense victory over Albert Davila of Pomona, Calif. Aug. 1, the California Athletic Commission announced yesterday.

Traces of amphetamines and metaphine were found in Lora's urine. The commission, which has scheduled a hearing for testimony from Lora, Davila and their representatives on Aug. 19, could award the victory to Davila. TRACK: Slaney in fine form Mary Decker Slaney missed her world mile record by six seconds, clocking four minutes, 22.86 seconds in the KvP-Mai Galan international track and field meet in Malmo, Sweden last night It was a world seasonal best for the 29-year-old American, who set the world record of 4:16.71 in the Welt-klasse meet at Zurich in 1985. Carl Lewis, the four-time Olympic champion, easily won the men's 200 in 20.32 seconds in a borrowed racing outfit after his bags were lost on his flight from the United States.

World record holders Edwin Moses and Florence Griffith Joyner were also easy winners. Griffith Joyner won the 100 meters in 11.10. Moses took the 400 meter hurdles in 47.89. ELSEWHERE: New accident theory Authorities investigating a boat racing accident in Pittsburgh that injured 23 spectators eliminated a floating railroad tie as the cause yesterday, leaving the wake from other boats as the prime explanation. Early reports suggested the boat driven by 1987 Canadian National Champion Robert Wood struck the railroad tie.

Veteran defenseman Borje Saiming said yesterday he has agreed to return to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 16th NHL season. Sam Maccarone of Glassboro, N. rolled 300 and 287 back-to-back to take the third-round lead yesterday in the Professional Bowlers Association $130,000 Molson Golden Bowling Challenge in Windsor, Ontario.
