THE SUNDAY PRESS 5 A Crash Death of Addonizio Case Witness Probed Binghamton, N. June 21, 1970 i just before the crash, but Dr. Edward F. Murray, Essex County medical examiner, said Saturday the death was caused by the crash. "He (Anderson) was alive when he hit the tree," Murray said.

Anderson's demolished car was impounded by state po- pal Court Judge Anthony Giu-liano, 72, died of a heart attack Feb. 4. He was a defendant. West Orange Police Chief Pat DeFasio said there was no evidence of foul play in Anderson's death. Police originally had said Anderson had a heart attack funneling kickbacks from contractors dealing with the City of Newark to the defendants.

Addonizio, who lost a bid for re-election Tuesday to Kenneth Gibson, a black engineer, and the other six defendants, including alleged Mafia boss Anthony "Tony Boy" Boiardo, are on trial in U.S. District Court here on charges of extorting $253,000 from an engineering firm doing business with the city. Fourteen persons were originally indicted last December. Some will be tried at a later date. lice, said Essex County prosecutor Joseph Lordi, as a part of a county-state investigation.

Lordi said investigative steps would include a mechanical check of the automobile and a toxicological examination of the body. Herbert J. Stern, chief assistant U.S.'attorney, said that if the probe by county and state officials turned up any "suspicion of foul play" he expected federal authorities would join in. Anderson was to testify, according to the government, about an alleged scheme for TRENTON, N.J. Three of the mayors appeared at a news conference with Goldberg while Howard Samuels, his opponent, was campaigning elsewhere in the city. In the four-man Democratic Senate race, Paul O'Dwyer got the endorsement of Rep.

Adveiilists Vole More Integration Atlantic City, N. J. Seventh Day Adventists moved toward greater racial integration within their religious order during a 10-day world conference which ended Saturday. Delegates from 193 countries also studied methods for representatives from the various nations to play greater roles in the church's administration. The church has its world headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The fundamentalist group expressed concern for youth by allowing 18 young observers to take part in each phase of the church's business during the 51st conference. About 1,800 voting delegates among the 30,000 persons attending elected a ratio of one black to nine whites in top posts at the world headquarters. There are about two million Adventists around the world. The assembly was picketed on June 14 by a small group of youthful Negro Adventists from the Washington, D.C, area who claimed that blacks were not being given a fair representation in the church. Blacks number about 15 per cent of American Adventists.

On Friday the delegates reelected Robert H. Pierson, 59, to another four-year term as president. At a sermon during the conference, he said, "We live in a Christian world where too many great churches have jettisoned the inspired Word of God, the divinity of Christ, the Ten Commandments, and some other basics of the gospel in favor of an appealing new morality and a sadly sterile secularism. "Such a gospel has little to offer questing souls. The end of such a course must be spiritual bankruptcy." rs uirses Shirley Chisholm of Brooklyn, former Mayor Robert F.

Wagner, and a long list of union leaders. Senate candidate Theodore Sorensen sponsored an outing to the Bronx Zoo for 110 youths from Odyssey House, a narcotics addict treatment center. Rep. Richard L. Ottinger was endorsed by Bess Myer-son Grant, the city's commissioner of consumer affairs.

Ottinger issued a paper accusing the Nixon administration of "malign neglect" of education. At Goldberg's news conference, Mayor Dominick Assaro of Utica read a statement assailing Samuels' campaign tactics. He said it was backed by Mayors Alfred Del Bello of Yonkers, Edward Lagonegra of Elmira, Frank Sedita of Buffalo and Francis D. Stelt-zer of Pittsburgh. Del Bello and Lagonegra were present.

Assaro's statement renewed Goldberg's charges that Samuels had said he was voting for Negro Sen. Basil Paterson for lieutenant governor in downstate appearances, but said he was "neutral" on the race upstate. He also accused Samuels of being for repeal of the amendment barring state aid to parochial schools upstate, and against repeal downstate. Samuels has denied the charges. Richard Max McCarthy, a foe of water pollution, went on a scuba-diving spree Saturday to collect samples of water in four upstate lakes. Only in one lake, he said, was the water fit to drink. McCarthy, of Buffalo, is one of four seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S.

senator. He began his diving in Lake Erie here and then moved on to nearby Lake Ontario. From there, McCarthy sampled the waters of Onondaga Lake in Syracuse and Lake George in Northern New York. "Lake Ontario is fast going the way of Lake Erie," McCarthy said in a statement. "Long stretches of beach as far up as Selkirk might be closed to the public this year because of untreated debris flowing into its waters." At Onondaga Lake, McCarthy charged that the Crucible Steel Co.

and Solvay Process Division of Allied Chemical Co. had "turned this waterway into a cesspool." McCarthy said it was his opinion Lake George water was safe to drink but added, "even here the first danger signals are present." He said he would give the water samples to the House Public Works Committee, of which he is a member. Median Elected To Head Stale DA Association Kerhonkson, X. Y. I.Ti Robert M.
