A12 Daily Record, Morris County, N.J., Wednesday, May 22, 1991 FROM PAGE A1 lives back to normal. For the last four summers the Daily Record's Operation Sunshine has been sending disadvantaged Morris County children to camp, and tax-deductible contributions by our readers have covered all the costs. All donations go directly toward the camperships. (The Daily Record assumes all administrative and operational expenses.) Two other children longing to be on that camp bus come July are Andy and Ann. The boy and girl live with their divorced mother in a low-income housing project.

The woman says she has no idea where her husband has gone. The children's mother, who came to this country from Peru, has managed to stay off welfare by working long hours at a menial job. If Andy, 10, and Ann, 7, are able to go to camp with Operation Sunshine, their mother will be able to save on sitting expenses, at least for part of the summer, and use that money for school clothes in September. Checks may be made out to Operation Sunshine, P.O. Box 6382, Parsippany, N.J.

Business Administrator Thomas Grady resigned last Friday, calling council members fiscally irresponsible after they decided not to cut the defeated school budget. The state has ordered Mine Hill to correct a number of accounting problems and submit monthly financial reports to Trenton. "They were reluctant to give a cap waiver when the township is undergoing a financial review," Johnston said.

The state allows municipalities to exceed the 4.5 percent limit on spending increases only if the money can be recouped by the end of the year or with a return on investments, so taxpayers will not be required to make up the difference, Johnston said. Hygrade's Hot Dogs Maraziti stridently supported Nixon during the Watergate crisis and urged televised proceedings of the committee's debates. "He felt this was a legal issue," Joseph Maraziti Jr. said. "At the time of the vote, he felt there was not enough evidence to impeach a president of the United States.

He believed he made the right decision, and was steadfast in that." Following Nixon's resignation in 1974, Maraziti, along with other Nixon backers, lost their congressional seats. Maraziti attempted several unsuccessful political comebacks, including runs for state Assembly in 1977 and 1987 and for Morris County freeholder in 1983. "He so much enjoyed the political process," Maraziti Jr. said. "He loved campaigning and meeting people.

His political positions gave him the opportunity to speak for the people." Maraziti leaves his wife, Eileen, of 51 years; two sons, Joseph Jr. of Chatham Township and Charles A. of Boonton Township; five daughters, Mary Ellen Baldwin of Boonton, Margaret Patterson of Manasquan, Maria Wilhelm of Cranston, R.I., Catherine Bennett of Warwick, N.Y., and Eileen Wren of Long Valley; three sisters, Rose and Amalia Maraziti, both of Boonton, and Inez Meola of Morris Plains; and 16 grandchildren. The Mackey Funeral Home in Boonton is handling funeral arrangements. Continued from A1 Nixon and had been for a number of years," said Maraziti's son, Joseph a Morristown attorney.

"I don't think he was ever sorry about his decision. He was never bitter about it, but was extremely disappointed about the impact on his career." Born and raised in Boonton, Maraziti graduated from Fordham University and from Fordham University Law School. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1938 and became attorney for several municipalities, including Mount Olive Township and Boonton. He soon began a political career that would span several decades, serving as legislative secretary to the state Senate and to the state Assembly during the 1930s. He was elected to the Assembly in 1958, representing the Morris County area until being chosen state senator in 1968.

In 1972, while Senate majority Maraziti was elected to the U.S. Congress in a wave of Republican popularity as Nixon was swept into office for a second term. From beginning of his freshman term, Maraziti was a strong supporter of Sixon and his efforts to wind down the Vietnam War. However, that support soon backfired as Nixon's political fortunes reversed. As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, 1-Lb.
