Lacotta pro- to strikeout two of the three batters and forced the third to groundout. Lacotta also pitched two and one-third innings of great relief ball in the second contest.

Veteran Jim Sleicher (3-0) hurled fine ball until tiring in the last frame in the first game. Mark Drauschak upped his record to 1-1 in the second game, hurling the first four and two- third frames. The Bald Eagles of Coach Tod Eberle blasted out 25 hits and 18 runs in the 14 innings of action. Augustine and Roth played fine against terrific competition. Ben Williams and JJilly Johns continued unbeaten on the season and should be ranked number one at the conference tourney." Eagles hitting doubles during the hit parade included Bill Yoder, Lou Martarano, Harry Doutt, another freshman, and Doug Conlon. The two wins give the Eagles a season record of 7-2 and in the tough Pennsylvania Conference a mark of 6-2. With their playoff hopes much alive at this point, Lock Haven travels to Clarion tomorrow for another big twinbill. Coach Eberle plans to send Lock Haven's Frank Blazina (2-0) and Renovo's Rod Burrows (1-1) to the mound in the crucial contests. FIRST GAME JERSEY SHORE It was a clear case of Jersey Shore's "track" versus Williamsport's "field" in Tuesday night's event here in Thompson St.

Stadium. The Millionaires swept the triple jump and the high jump to put the contest on ice late in the evening, and the visitors won all but one of the other five field events to top the Bulldogs 83-67. The Shoremen led 55-54 after 13 events. A highlight performance was the Bulldog two mile relay team which set a new record for the stadium and an all-time school mark in the time of 8:28.7. The quartet was Steve Bower, Steve Allison, Ralph Jones, and Noel Russell.

The Orange and Black runners took eight first places of the 11 track events and tied one. Come-through man in the neck-and-neck battle with the Cherry and White was Bower, with his lead-off two laps in the two mile relay, a 4.46.5 in the mile run, and a first place 2.06 performance in the half mile. Enos Kimball, Shore middle distance and sprint star, won the 220 in 23.6, the quarter mile in the excellent time of 51.9, and anchored the mile relay team to an easy 30-yard triumph in 3.42.6. Plucky Tim Bailey shaved about 15 seconds from his best time in taking the two mile run in a sprint finish, his 10.32.7 the best of his 1971 campaign. Greg Sanford, in his first outing in the eight-lapper, placed third.

In the century sprint, Keith Jenkins, of Williamsport, and Tom Charles, of Shore, ran a dead heat in the comparatively slow time of 10.6. Steve Lehman's best toss of his career in the shot put, more than 47 feet, was good only for third spot, and Joe Feerrar added another victory in his specialty event, the javelin, with a throw of 186 feet. He was the Bulldogs' only field winner. In an exciting 880 relay, anchor man Tom Charles stayed well ahead to win the event for the athletes of Terry Shuman, head coach for the third year, in 1.36.2. Surprising performer for the Millionaires team; coached by Dick Cox, was Bernard Shepherd, who was one tenth of a second behind winner Gary Stover, of Williamsport, in the highs, and a tenth of a second ahead of Tom Charles in the 180 low hurdles to capture that one.

They ran separate heats. The Shoremen ran their season record in duals and triangular meets to 12-1, and Thursday at 4 p.m. take on strong Penn Highlands at Lewistown, with Huntingdon the third team. Tuesday, May 11, the Bulldogs will go to State College to take on the powerful Little Lions at 4 o'clock. TRACK 120 High Hurdles 1.

By DICK COUCH Associated Press Sports Writer The wheel of fortune has taken two heartening turns for the Minnesota a sickening twist for the Cleveland Indians.

Minnesota tied the New York Yankees oh Rod Carew's home run with two out in the ninth inning Tuesday night and then beat them 6-5 on Jim Holt's two- out homer in the 10th. The Indians bowed to' Kansas City 2-0 and also lost pitcher luckless Steve Hargan for at least six weeks with a broken right ankle. In another American League action, Baltimore trimmed California 4-1, Boston edged the Chicago White Sox 4-3, Detroit nipped Oakland 6-5 and Milwaukee blanked Washington 2-0. Lindy McDaniel came out of the New York bullpen after the Yankees had struck for two runs in the top of the ninth to take a 5-4 lead. The veteran reliever got two quick outs before grooving a 1-2 pitch to Carew, who belted it into left center field seats for his first homer of the season.

McDaniel retired the first two Minnesota batters in the 10th but Hot, who had entered the game as a late-inning defensive replacement, slammed a 1-0 delivery over the right field fence for his first 1971 homer. Hargan's injury, suffered when he twisted for an errant throw from first baseman Ken Harrelson in the fifth inning, jolted Cleveland Manager Alvin Dark far more than the Indians' 15th setback in 20 games. Bruce Dal Canton scattered nine hits and received last-out relief help from Ted Abernathy as the Royals handed Hargan, 113 last season, his fifth loss in as many decisions. At Baltimore, Jim Palmer ran his pitching record to 5-0 with a seven-hitter as the Orioles breezed past California. Boog Powell doubled home two runs to pace the winners' attack.

The victory kept the second place Orioles one game behind Boston's East Division leaders, who broke a 3-3 tie with the White Sox on Phil Gagliano's bases-loaded pinch single in the seventh. Left fielder Carl Yastrzemski blunted a ninth-inning Chicago threat by nailing fleet Luis Alvarado at the plate on a single by pinch-hitter Rich McKinney. Al Kaline drew a two-out walk in the ninth at Detroit, then raced home from first with winning run as Jim Northrup's single to right went through Reggie Jackson's legs for an error. Jackson had homered earlier for the A's, who retained a lead over California Cage coaches in shuffle College gals triumph LOCK HAVEN After four hours of good tennis, the Lock Haven State College women's tennis team handed a strong Bucknell University team its first defeat of the season by a score of 4-3. The match was played in sunny, but cool and windy weather, The match was hotly-contested all the way and the outcome was in doubt until the third set of the final doubles match.

After splitting, two matches Lock Haven'lkAlice Rutkowski and Sue Heckendorn won the third set, 6-1 to sew up the big win. Coach Barbara Berry's Eaglettes fell behind after losing the number one and two singles by 2-1 but came charging back as Pat Brunner, Mary Overington and Lock Haven native Pat Shearer won the next three matches. PROBST Expreii Sports Writer BELLEFONTE A seventh inning home run by Joe Zimmerman prevented the Lock Haven Bobcats from the shutout as they fell to Bellefonte by a 5-2 score yesterday at the Bellefonte High School field. The shot by Zimmerman drove home Bill Walizer, who singled, for the only time the 'Cats got their runners home.

They stranded 10 men on base in yesterday's contest. Bill Hoy notched the win as the Red Raiders moved their mark to 5-2 on the year. Hoy allowed five hits as he fanned 12 and walked six enroute to the complete game. Ed (Cakey) Fisher was the lone LHHS hurler. He gave up six hits, issued four passes, and fanned one Raider batter.

He also hit a batter. Steve Rippey paced Lock Haven at the plate with a 2-for-4 day, and Yogi Leitzell had the Raider's only extra base hit, a double. Bellefonte jumped out in front 4-0 in the second inning. Mike Watson walked and Al Leitzell singled. A sacrifice bunt by Bob Davidson put the men in scoring position.

Denny Hile then walked to fill the bases. Doug. Leathers hit into a fielder's choice that scored Watson, and when Leitzell turned at third and ran for home, the Bobcats got him in a run-down but he scored on a bad throw. Pitcher Hoy singled in Hile and Leathers for the four run bulge. The Red Raiders added their last run in the fifth when Doug Sassman walked, and scored on a double by Yogi Leitzell.

In the jayvee contest, the Raiders shaded the Little Bobcats by a 11-10 score. Drapcho notched the win with five strikeouts and four walks. Mark Laubach and Trent Rippey threw for Lock Haven. The pair gave up eight hits while fanning one and issuing four passes. Dukeman 3-for-4, Savrock 2- for-4, Conti 2-for-4, 'and Craig Platt with a double led the Lock Haven 12-hit attack.
