IMIIMIIMMMIIIMHIMMIIIIIIIMIIMIIIIIIMIIIIII Letters to the editor To the Editor: I am 81 years old and in sound mind. I have lived in Lock Haven all my life I have seen it build up I know because my people were all lumberman and worked on wood and brick. Here is a clipping from the paper I wish you would reprint about Lock Haven when we had real leaders. I am with Sherry Ramm of Frostburg, Md. in Thursday paper, March 2: an award should go to the people of Loganton, and also with Harris Confer about the schools and I don't need to go to Jim Snovely for national alarm, what does he know anymore than any one else.

I am also a democrat ever since President Roosevelt of which I am a little ashamed of now. LULU YOST Editor's note: As a matter of policy, The Express doesn't reprint material from other publications because of limits of space and the considerable number of requests we get for this service. To the Editor: I wish to make a correction in an article appearing in the March 3 edition of The Express which recognized area residents for their being named to the Dean's List at Gettysburg College. The article stated that, "Miss Wentz is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Edward E. Wentz." Mr. and Mrs. Edward E. Wentz have no daughter, and the hypothetical figure of Miss Jan T.

Wentz is in reality one of their four SONS! I do not know whether this incorrection should be credited to The Express or the public relation's officer at Gettysburg College: nevertheless, I believe that a clarification is in order. Realizing the sexually ambiguous nature of my first name. I understand such a mistake, but within an age of the liberated woman I wish to maintain a basic differentiation. Thank you. MR.

JAN T. WENTZ To the Editor: I am writing in regards to a problem that has been around for many years and I think that parents and people of the community should get together and solve the problem of smoking in our grade schools and high schools. I do not think the three day suspension they give the children is going to solve the problem. I feel that instead of suspending them from school that the school should come up with some sort of parole system where kids should report to a counselor and be assigned some sort of work duty or some sort of punishment along this line in the school. Most of the kids will smoke so they can be suspended from school because they do not like school and this will not solve the problem by helping them out of three days of their education which some of them don't want The Express, Lock Haven, March 8, 1972-Page 15 LOW PRICES WEIS EXTRA OREEN STAMPS WHEN rOU PURCHASE WEIS QUALITY -GAL CTN.

PORK CHOP Trucks numbered on roofs to Ml NEW YORK (AP) More than 3,000 trucks now roll alqng metropolitan area roads with code numbers painted on their roofs as part of a three-month- old experimental program aimed at foiling hijackers. When a truck is 30 minutes overdue on a run, police are notified of its intended route, the nature and value of its cargo. Police helicopters begin a search. After the truck is identified by the four-foot-high code numbers, the helicopter can lay back and follow it while directing radio cars in pursuit, explained Detective Lt. Gerard Littlefield.
