P. B. rally held at the M. E. Church last Sunday evening was a lively affair and well attended.

Brookton, Slaterville and Forest Homo were represented by delegates with their presidents, the Brookton contingent being the largest. After the "Star Spangled Banner" by the audience an invocation by Rev, F. R. Yeomans, and several Y. P.

B. songs the chairman, Bronson Root, introduced Miss Frances Willard Wang, a young Chinese girl who is attending Northwestern University and is studying the temperance movement in this country. Miss Wang is a convincing speaker, her sparkling black eyes, dainty blue silk Chinese dress, and naive and conversational style of utterance, adding greatly to the Interest of her subject. She spoke feelingly of her love for the new flag of China, the five stripes representing the five sections of that vast population and its new impulses and hopes of a government of the people, by the people and for the peopie. She also told in lively fashion of her own training in mission schools and temperance teaching from the Chinese W.

T. and asked her hearers if they were not proud of the splendid stand taken by the United States, when after the Boxe- rebellion this country told China to keep the indemnity allotted to the United States and use it to educate Chinese girls and boys in our schools and colleges. Miss Wang asked also if we were aware how great an influence our country is exercising on China and the world and if we are prepared to meet that responsibility. Her address was frequently applauded and a rousing applause at the end expressed the appreciation of all.

Miss Helen Estelle. state assistant secretary of the Y. P. gave an earnest talk urging the young people and all to vote next fall for men who stand squarely for the ratification of the prohibition amendment and for war prohibition and called for a rising vole of the audience; the question was put by the chairman and was unanimously voted in the af firmative. A cordial welcome to the delegations and audience was given by Diana Crispell and the singing was led by Uie violin and piano playing respectively of Mr.

and Mrs. T. C. Burns, recently married and both active members of the local Y. P.

B. Of five state Y. P. B. officials present, four are of Tompkins County, Hazel and Percy Dunn of Forest Home, Maude Pratt of Dryden and Bronson Root of Slaterville.
