Bar rr. Ithaca Team Smashes Way to 14-0 Victory Over Binghamton High FRESHMEN LOSE TO KISKI SCHOOL BY 19-0 SCORE The Cornell freshman eleven lost the opening game of the 1925 schedule Saturday going down to defeat before KIski School on Upper Alumni Field SCHOOL DAYS In one of the most spactacular but 9 at the same time poorest games the Cornell varsity ran away with Western Reserve on Schoellkopf Field Saturday afternoon piling up a score of 110 to 0, the largest made on a Cornell gridiron since 1898, when Cornell defeated Rochester 128 to 0. Western Reserve came to Ithaca with a team much lighter than the Cornell outfit and without anywhere near the same amount of training. As a result the visitors could do nothing with the Cornell attack and on the offensive had little to offer but a weak aerial attack which accounted for but one first down for the visitors during the 52 minutes of play. Had the full 15 minute periods been played Cornell could probably have added another touchdown or two but It wouldn't have meant much.

Coach Dobie started Rooney at quarterback in place of Pfann who, however, was sent in during the first period and remained until near the close of the third quarter. Kaw who tore off some good gains was yanked out of the game early by Coach Dobie for failing to follow his inter ference. While Kaw occasionally made some spectacultr advances his work did not please the Cornell mentor. Kaw is not a brilliant open field runner and his apparent failure to follow orders resulted in his get ting out before the first half ended Gould a Flash. "Red" Gould, who took his place, is one of the fastest men seen on a Cornell football team in some time.

As a matter of fact he was too fast for his interference repeatedly crashing into his teammates ahead of him, but nevertheless he got away for some substantial gains. Olney, who replaced Lechler at fullback, played good football during the time he was in the game. The Cornell line and backfleld worked in unison and it was seldom that the Cornellians failed to gain, but the opposition was so weak that the game gave little light on the ability of the Red and White team. What Cornell will do against Colgate and Dartmouth is the chief question now confronting Cornell followers. The Cornellians will get their first real test of the season against Colgate Saturday despite the reports that Colgate has one of the poorest teams in her history.

Colgate will put up a battle such as the Maroon has always done and while indications are that Cornell should win by a comfortable margin it is certain that the game will be no; Game Gurgles (By GOOGIE.) Cornell's inauguration program opened Saturday afternoon on Schoel-kopf Field. Dean G. Dobie was master of ceremonies, Western Reserve University of Ohio was misrepresented by a delegation of young men. One of the events was a football game played for the edification of a goodly crowd. The concert by the cadet band was fine.

About 4:45 p. m. Cornell football stock shot above par. When the market gong rang for the close the stock was selling at 110. "Red" Gould was placed under arrest after the game on a charge of truancy.

He simply ran away from his playmates all afternoon. Between the halves two "compets" carried something on the field. It was said to have been an adding machine sent over from the clubhouse by R. Berry to keep track of the score. It was a toss-up as to which marched up and down the gridiron the fest-est the Cornell backfleld or the band.

Ohio may be the logical home of presidents but it had an awful plural- Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets Get at the Cause and Remove It Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets, the substitute for calomel, act gently on the bowels and positively do the work. People afflicted with bad breath find quick relief through Dr. Edwards'Olive Tablets.

The pleasant, sugar-coated tablets are taken for bad breath by all who know them. Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets act gently but firmly on the bowels and liver, stimulating them to natural action, clearing the blood and gently purifying the entire system. They do that which dangerous calomel does without any of the bad after effects. All the benefits of nasty, sickening, Siping cathartics are derived from r.

Edwards' Olive Tablets without griping, pain or any disagreeable effects. Dr. F. M. Edwards discovered the formula after seventeen years of practice among patients afflicted with bowel and liver complaint, with the attendant bad breath.

Olive Tablets are purely a vegetable compound mixed with olive oil; you wfll know them by their olive color. Take one or two every night for a week; and note the effect. 15c and 30c BAD BREATH indicate the fact remains that it doesn't mean much of anything. Western Reserve was so far outclassed that after the first few moments it was only a question of how many points Cornell wanted to score. The only thing that can be said for the visitors was that they were game to the last whistle, but it ends there.

It was not much more than a good scrimmage practice for the Dobie machine and a real line on the Cornell team can't be secured until after some real opposition has been met and Cornell will get it against Colgate, for the Maroon is pointing for the game here and will be at top shape. 0. INFLUENZA I As a preventive, melt and In hale night and morning varorub A Oecr 17 Million Jan Vttd Urged on by a wildly cheering crowd of local rooters, the Ithaca High School football team administered a stinging defeat to Binghamton Central High School Saturday to the tune of 14-0. It was Binghamton's first defeat in three years and her first defeat on her own field in five years. At the start, Binghamton learned that it was impossible to penetrate Ithaca's line and resorted to an end run formation with Barberson carrying the ball. The locals made cood cains by forward passing with Tatasciore on the receiving end, and through the stubborn line plunging of Boles and Fitzgerald, who replaced Button who was unable to play on account of an injured knee.

The Ithacans also gained many yards in exchanging punts with Binghamton, Burns and Boles averaging 50 yards in their kicks. In the first quarter, the two teams worked the ball up and down the field, evenly matched, but at the start of the second, period Binghamton lost many yards on a poor punt, the ball rolling back toward their own goal. However at this stage the Binghamton defense held stubbornly and Ithaca lost the ball on downs. Binghamton, too, found it Impossible to gain, and in an attempt to punt out of danger from behind his own goal line, Sullivan was thrown for what should have been a safety but was allowed to go as a touchback. The ball was put in play on Binghamton's 29 yard line, but the Bingo defense tightened and Ithaca lost the ball on downs.

On the next play, Brigham was tackled so hard by Tatasciore that he fumbled. Fitzgerald scooped up the ball and with no interference raced to Binghamton's two yard line. Binghamton held for one downs, but on the next play, Boles went over the line for the first score or the game. Tatasciore kicked the goal. Half Ends 7-0.

The first half ended shortly afterwards with the ball in Binghamton's possession in mldfleld. During the third quarter, neither team gained much ground, the ball being in mid-field until the close of this period, when the Ithacans worked the ball as far as their opponents' 20 yard line only to lose it on downs. Being unable to get around Ithaca's ends, Bingo tried a pass, which was intercepted by Boles who paved the way for Ithaca's second touchdown by carrying the ball to Binghamton's two yard line on this play. Boles plowed through center on the next play for his second score. Tatasciore kicked this goal, making the final score read: Ithaca 14, Binghamton 0.

After the kick-off, Barberson made a nice 25 yard run before he was stopped by Brashear, but Binghamton lost the gain, as he went outside. Bingo was forced to punt and they threatened to score when Brashear fumbled the catch and a Binghamton end re covered on the locals' 15 yard line. However the Ithaca line held like a stone wall and Binghamton was forced to surrender the pigskin to Ithaca. Boles immediately punted out of danger. Team Worked TYelL To pick a star on the Ithaca team would be hard, since perfect teamwork was displayed on both the offense and the defense, but Barberson and Kennedy, before he was forced to leave the game because of a broken wrist, did the best work for nine-ham.
