(1958) An all star cast, including Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh and Ernest Borg-nine, enhances this elaborately mounted adventure epic liberally laced with action.

The battle sequences are the highlights of the tale about the Viking's invasion of England. The male stars go through their paces energetically, and Miss Leigh looks lovely. On location photography in Norway is another plus. THE ROGUES (10 p.m., Channel 40) "The Day They Gave Diamonds Away." Another good one, amply spiked with the same con artist charm that made the opener such fun. This time it's Charles Boyer, posing as the mad inventor of a machine that makes diamonds, who plays a dominant role, with Gig Young fronting for him, as they try to use the worthless machine to rock the world's diamond market and yield a fortune for them.

Assistant Rogues Robert Coote and Gladys Cooper, also contribute a few carats of aid, while James Gregory plays the chief mark, and Nancy Berg has a nice scene as a gal who's out to seduce a "Rogue." Some Changes Being Framed For Bonanza Bonanza producer David Dortort will explore new story areas and increase location shooting to keep his show exciting and fresh for the 1964-65 season, the sixth year for the NBC color series starting Sunday, Sept. 20 (9-10 p. on Channel 40. "The boys are growing up and they'll be faced with greater adult problems. But, the show will continue to point np the moral importance of strong family ties. And, there'll be comedies. We'll continue to show the lighter side of the Old West." Visually, Dortort will draw on the beautiful lake country of southern Nevada, the Kern River country of California and the wooded mountain area near Flagstaff, Arizona, site of the largest stand of Pon-derosa Pine in the world. "Since our show is shot in color, these areas will give the viewer a welcome change from the arid, rock-strewn locations used by most Westerns," Dortort says.

"We want to take full advantage of the edge color gives us." el o1 SEE THE COMPLETE LIKE OF Connie's a Girl To Be Trusted New York When a friend's telephone was busy for an unusually long time, Connie Hines, co-star of Mister Ed Sundays p. on CBS and Channel 12, called the operator to see if the phone was out of order. "She has an unlisted number and I promised I wouldn't give it to anyone." Who says a woman can't keep a secret? Not Dead Yet New York Even though it received less than unanimous praise by the critics, the On Broadway Tonight summer series may be back again pretty soon.
