Mrs. Johns Named Club Woman Of Year Mrs. Charles Johns was nam-1 Women's Clubs in Seattle reported club woman of the year at the dinner installation meeting of the Centralia Junior Women's club Thursday evening at Kit Carson's. Mrs. Johns was honored for her outstanding work in club, church and community.

Mrs. R. F. Steinmetz, senior advisor for the group, installed the new officers for the year as follows: Mrs. Al Zuber, president; Mrs.

Charles Johns, vice president; Mrs. Dale Warren, secretary; Mrs. James Harrison, treasurer; Mrs. Frank Radick, historian; Mrs. a Guenther, parliamentarian.

Mrs. David Johnson and Mrs. Henry Wastradowski were initiated as new members. Mrs. James Guenther, delegate to the annual convention of the Washington State Federation of Mrs.

Cook Elected TENINO The women's auxiliary of the Tenino aerie of Eagles at its last meeting elected Mrs. Lois Cook as its new president; Lillian Moran, i president; Diane Penfield, chaplain; Olive Peterson, conductor; Tyyne Peterson, secretary; Shirley Reule, treasurer; Evelyn Peters, outside guard; Naomi Andruss, and Georgia Thompson, trustee for a five year term. Next night a dinner meeting will be held by the group, with members of the Shelton auxiliary as guests. Memorial services will be held. Lee Cook is the newly elected president of the Tenino aerie, to succeed his father, D.

W. Cook, when an installation ceremony is held on June 8. Other new officers for the coming year are Norman Van Orsdol, vice president; Milton Wolfe, chaplain; 0. W. Penfield, conductor; Walter Reule, secretary; Ralph Mickelson, treasurer; Larry Anduss, inside guard; William Mickelson, outside guard, and Joe Essensa, George Moran and Ted Ventilo, trustees for three, two and one years, respectively.

FHA Elects The Future Homemakers of America at W. F. West high school have elected the following officers for next year: Tryna Norberg, president; Dianne Frazier, vice president; Sally Kelso, secretary; Diane Myer, treasurer; Janis Davis, reporter; and Elaine Miller, parliamentarian. Sue Skule has been elected president of the W. F.

West publicity club for the next school year, ed that the Centralia club Had been honored with a first prize award from Care for the largest donation per member in the state for a two year period. The club was also awarded a certificate from the hospital ship USS Hope for their contributions of nurses uniforms last year. Mrs. Paul Sweet, Chehalis, ias been appointed district ipme life chairman by Colum- lia District director, Mrs. Davd Jeitz.

The club presented with an advisors pin and past presidents pins awarded to Mrs. William House and Mrs. Sweet. The group also resented Mrs. Sweet a gift as outgoing president.

A June 6 wedding is planned. Susan Mickelsen To Be Guest Of Lewis County Dairy Wives It was announced at the Lewis County Dairy Wives meeting last Wednesday evening at the Court House annex that Miss Susan Mickelsen, Lewis Pacific Dairy princess, will be a special guest at the next meeting on June 3. Dairy wives were asked to take five guests each and a special program will be featured as June is National Dairy Month. Mrs. Dale Hamilton presided over the business meeting during which a work day was planned for pouring the foundation for the fair booth.

The dairy wives volunteered their husbands to do the work. Members were reminded to start saving items for the rummage sale which will be Sept. 10 and 11 at the old Lewis County Hardware Building in Chehalis. Below is the recipe for Chocolate Cheese Pie which was served by Mrs. Ken Wolfe and Mrs.

Charles Hewlett. Chocolate Chttst Pit: 1 6 oz. package chocolate bits 1 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened) cup light brown sugar Vt teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs (separated) Vn cup heavy cream (whipped) 1 9 inch chilled graham cracker crust. Melt chocolate and cool.

Blend cheese, cup sugar, salt and vanilla. Beat in yolks, one at a time. Beat in chocolate and blend. Beat egg whites until stiff, add Vt cup sugar, beat until stiff. Fold chocolate mixture into white mixture.

Fold in cream. Pour in crust. Chill overnight. crust: 1'A cups graham cracker crumbs Vi cup brown sugar 1-3 cup butter- (melted) 1 oz. bitter chocolate (melted) Press into nine inch pie plate.

Let cool before filling. Girl's League Holds Mothers Tea The Centralia high Girl's League held its annual Mothers Tea, candlelight installation ceremony and style show Friday in the high school gymnasium. The Rev. Harvey Hartling gave the invocation, followed by the welcome by Yvonne Griel and response by Mrs. Stanley Radinsky, Sandra Marth and Laraine Gibson provided the entertainment.

Officers installed include Ka- retary and Nancy Walsh, treasurer. Also installed were the new chairmen. They are Sandra Marth, social; Penny Koher, program; Dottie Hughes, publicity; Sue Shields, decorations; Kathy Steffensen, co-concession; Sandra Andriotti, concession and Janis Kellogg, welfare. In addition to the chairmen, three girls were installed to rep- thy Halliday, president; Mary resent each class. Coffee, punch and cookies were served to the mothers af the conclusion of the program. Emblem Club Seats Mrs.

Jacques Mrs. Eugene Jacques, Olympia, was installed as president of Centralia Emblem club in ceremonies Saturday evening in the Longview Elks home. Other officers installed include Marriage Announced Mrs. Leslie Voss, Chehalis, has announced the marriage of her daugher, Sally Sue to E. L.

(Pete) Keesee of Centralia. The bride wore a white mohair suit for her wedding on May 2 in Moscow, Idaho. The young couple is now at home in Centralia. Team Competes ROCHESTER Four members of the Rochester high schopl. Future Farmers of America chapter went to the Enumclaw junior dairy show and judging contest last weekend.

First place went to Ridgefield, but the local team made a creditable showing in a field of 29 teams. Those going, accompanied by Larry Marvin, advisor, were Faye Faye, Mike Gowan, Ronnie Nichols and John Penny. those of the Longview Kelso and Hoquiam Emblem clubs. The triple ceremony was the first to be performed by Mrs. Paul Natalie of East Chicago, 111:, supreme president of the Emblem Club USA.

She was assisted by Mrs. Gene Herberlien, Milwaukee, marshal. Her installing suite consisted of past presidents of all Washington state Emblem clubs. Among the supreme officers Guest Day Scheduled Thursday will be guest day when the Senior Citizens Fellowship of the Centralia First Baptist church meets at the church for a social time and program. Those attending are asked to take guests and are reminded to take childhood pictures, wedding pictures, hobbies or anything of interest to help make up the program, according to Mrs.

Chris Ster nazel, Tumwater, was unable to attend her mother's installation. Mrs. Jacques and her slate of officers performed the formal closing. Club Meets At Beach Clam digging, competitive horseshoe games and relaxing in the sun was the order of the day when the Tag-A-Long trailer club met at Westport for the weekend. Members present were the families of Cole Kainey, Stottlemyre Bob Schoelkopf, Ray Weens and Lew Millman.

Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jeffers, Seattle and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Duval, Tacoma.

The award was received at the State convention in Seattle the 'irst weekend in May. The award was a silver bowl given to the club for doing the most to lace graduating juniors in sen- clubs or for forming a senior club. Members attending the state convention were state second extension coordinator, Mrs.

Charles Werner, Mrs. James McMahan and Mrs. Roger Me- Call. Mrs. McMahan was awarded a plaque for being the club woman of the year and the outstand- ng member of the White Pass Juniors when the club met last week with Mrs.

E. S. Blankinship. She was honored at the in- tallation of officers of both the Junior and Senior clubs. Mrs.

McMahan has served her club as treasurer and community ser- 50 Years Observed RAINIER Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lindberg of Rainier observed their 50th wedding anniversary last Sunday with a reception in the multi purpose room of the high school. They were married May 7, 1914, at Spokane, where they lived until 1923. They then moved to Kelso, where Mr.

Lindberg constructed many sidewalks and sewers in the then new city of Longview. The couple went to Vail in 1939, where he was construction supervisor for the Weyerhaeuser Company until retiring 10 years go. The Lindbergs have a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Megiveron, and grandchildren, Dick and Ann Megiveron, all residing here, who arranged the reception.
