He is the son of William Valentine, formerly of Richmond, and the grandson of Mrs. A.

Another person gave a check for $30. The family also received assistance from the Red Cross. he complained of stomach cramps. He did not have to stay, however, but was released after treatment. Mrs.

She said six German Shepherd puppies perished in the blaze and he had planned on keeping one of them Mrs. Sams and another REACT worker Mrs. Sandra Ramsey, 415 South praised the persons who Valentine of South Seventeenth Street. A 1974 graduate of Capitol Page School in Washington, D.C., Valentine is a prelaw student at Eariham.

He will begin his work in the Senate immediately upon completing his spring term courses. When he assumes his responsibilities in the Senate he will be handling research assignments and special projects, as well as routine clerical duties. The work will be supervised by the committee's chief counsel, Michael Pertschuk. Valentine will receive college course credit for his efforts. Valentine will be editor for the Eariham Post, the college's student newspaper, for the next academic year.

The figures do not reflect the days when there were as many as 7,500 calls received and answered by personnel in the toll free telephone service area, Caldwell said. Indiana taxpayers are' urged to prepare and file their returns so that a steady flow of returns will be received by the Memphis Service Center. Caldwell said this will avoid the drop off of returns processed during March. Indiana taxpayers are continuing to file their federal tax returns at a much faster rate than last year, according to James W. Caldwell, district director of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for Indiana.

Caldwell said that through March 22 there had been 1.418.240 returns filed, compared to 1,333,358 during the same period last year. This is 84,882 more returns so far this year, an increase of .06 per cent over 1974. The processing shows that 1,154,456, or 81 per cent of the returns received at the Memphis Service Center have been processed and resulted in 864,772 refunds. This effects a repayment of $348,244,447 to Indiana taxpayers, Caldwell noted. Caldwell added that this year early January filers have been rewarded.

Reports indicate some checks A living room suit, some bedding and some clothing for the younger children have been collected so far, but more is needed, according to REACT workers collecting articles for a family of eight burned out of their home in a fire Thursday afternoon. Especially needed, according to Mrs. Lana Sams, 1033 South Eighth is clothing for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Woods and their older children.

The children include a boy, 10; a girl, twin boys, a girl, 4, and a 19-month-old child. Mr. and Mrs. Woods and three of their children are staying with his family in Greens Fork until they can find a house to replace the one at 703 South St. which was gutted by the fire.

The other three boys are staying with Mrs. Woods' father at his apartment on North Seventeenth Street. The oldest boy, Richard, had to be rushed to Reid Hospital Friday night when George Duning of La Canada, a Richmond native, has been re-elected to the board of directors of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Duning has provided the film background scores for more than 100 movies. He studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and played the trumpet professionally.

He was musical director and supervisor of Kay Kyser's radio program, "Kollege of Musical Knowledge," for eight years. He has been an ASCAP member since 1949. He has written music, arranged and conducted for all types of stage presentations, including ballet and dance, vocal and instrumental. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
