The Palladium-Item and Sun-Telegram, Richmond, Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1944 5 Farm Equipment, Livestock Sale Brings $14,900 The Kinjockity farm equipment and livestock sale held Monday on the farm, located half-way between Cambridge City and Hagerstown on Indiana-1, was declared by officials in charge to be one of the largest ever attended in this county. Total sales brought $14,900, with the crowd present jamming th sales area. One of the major items of the sale, a tractor, was sold to W. O.

Brunner, of Liberty, for $963.23. One bull was bought by Joe Ripberger, of south of Milton, for $700. A number of registered Herefords were sold in addition to a milk herd. Articles at the sale were offered by the owner, Douglas E. Thompson.

R. V. McGrady and Vanderbeck served as auctioneers. Quigg Brothers Sell Holstein Friesian Cow The Holstein Friesian Association of America, with headquarters at Brattleboro, has announced the sale of a registered Holstein Friesian cow to Hugh White, Zanesville, Ohio, by the Quigg brothers of Richmond. Y. "Just Punishment" Meted Out to 8 Officers by Nazi Court Bulletin LONDON. (AP) Eight former officers in the German army were hanged Tuesday two hours after their trial concluded, Berlin radio announced. LONDON, -(AP)- Berlin announced Tuesday people's court had meted out "just punishment" to Field Marshal Erwin von Witzleben other expelled army officers severed on charges of complicity in the July 20 plot against Adolf Hitler's life. In Nazi Germany, "just punishment" usually means death.

Polish Exile Premier Confers With Group MOSCOW. (AP) Premier Stanislaw Mikolajezyk relayed to his exiled government in London Tuesday the details of his lengthy discussions with the Polish committee of liberation and national council. Sources close to the exiled Polish leaders in London said the premier now has enough information on which to base vital decisions. They hesitated to speculate on the terms. Foreigners in Moscow said this was a crucial moment in Polish history because "it is now up to the London government," to which concrete conditions have been given.

Stalin is understood to have assured Mikolajezyk that once a Polish rapprochement is reached, Russian-Polish issues will be considered. These deal primarily with Poland's eastern frontier. Witzleben, who was quoted as testifying that he and, Col. Gen. Ludwig Beck were to have headed the military under the coup.

Beck, former chief of the German general staff, committed suicide, Berlin said, after frustration of the conspiracy. Berlin announced earlier the death of seven other accused officers, four by execution July 20 and three more by suicide. Describes Plot Major General Stieff, one of those on trial, told the Himmlerruled peolpe's court, Berlin, said, that he knew the details still another abandoned plot to kill Hitler. This called for the placing of time bombs in the packs of three private soldiers, without their knowledge, and setting the bombs explode when they appeared before the feuhrer for a demonstration of new equipment. The broadcast said police officials led the defendants into the Berlin Supreme court for the trial.

The deliberations were concluded Tuesday. Berlin gave this account: The officers were accused of participation in the assassination attempt in order to stir up revolt in Germany, to assume command of the wehrmacht, to seize state authority and to conclude a dishonorable peace." The court consisted of an infantry general, a Berlin businessman, a people's councilor and a municipal councilor. A Berlin baker and a civil engineer served as substitute judges. The jury wore long red robes. The officers were represented by eight defense councilors appointed by the state.

Arthur Hines, Wayne county school superintendent, has announced that Miss Mary Kelsay has accepted a position as home economics teacher in the Whitewater school. Her successor here has not been named. Miss Kelsay, who is a native of Montpelier, attended Earlham college and was graduated from Drexel institute, Philadelphia, and served four years as a home agent in Pennsylvania, before coming to Fayette county. Webster Heck was named as general chairman for the Spurned Youth Chokes Fiancee PONTIAC, -A 23-year-old steel worker, discharged from the army for a brain injury, confessed Tuesday to Oakland County Prosecutor Donald C. Noggle that he choked his fiancee to death during a lovers' quarrel. The youth, Ernest Parsons, appeared in the Davison precinct police station in Detroit Monday and announced "I think I killed my sweetheart." He then led police to a heavily weeded ditch at the Oakland county intersection where the body of haired Luella M. Parfitt, 19, was found. Parsons said the girl had refused to marry him and told him she never wanted to see him again.
