Miss Barkley is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joe Clyde Parks Sr. and the late Mr. Parks of New Albany, and Claude Wellington Barkley and the late Mrs. Barkley of Cotten Plant.

She was an honor graduate from W. P. Daniel High School in New Albany and attended Mississippi State University. She received an Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing in 1982, where she was named to the dean's list. She is a registered nurse and is associated with Womans Hospital.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Samuel Stillwell Conoly Sr. and the late Mr. Conoly of Jacksonville, and the late Mr. and Mrs.

Jesse L. Roberts of Lexington, Miss.
