Eydt's 24 Points Give Central 48-40 Upset Win Baroudi Dies of Ring Injuries After Kayo by Charles in 10th Chicago-(P)-Sam Baroudi, 20, New York and Akron light heavyweight boxer, died in Columbus Hospital today, six hours after he was knocked out by Ezzard Charles in the 10th and last round of bout in Chicago Stadium last night. He died without regaining consciousness. Physicians had diagnosed his injury as a cerebral hemorrhage Well Known Here Sam Baroudi was widely known to Triple Cities fight fans. He fought at Kalurah Temple several times and one of his first professional fights was in the Washington Street ring. His last appearance here was in 1947.

UNCONSCIOUS Shortly, after the 10th round started Charles drew Baroudi into position for the knockout. He shot effective blows to the body before crossing a left to the chin which knocked Baroudi sprawling on his back 47 seconds after the round opened. He was carried unconscious from the on a stretcher and an inhalator squad from a nearby fire department was summoned.

Firemen, however, failed to revive him and a he was taken to the Columbus Hospital. Baroudi's death was the first this year from ring injuries, Baroudi, light heavyweight boxer who died today in Chicago six hours after he was knocked out in a bout, fatally injured a boxer here last August. Early in the fourth period they had assumed a 12- point bulge. CLARKE HIGH FOR NORTH As for North, its scoring stars, Bucky Roche and John Donnelly, were held in check most of the Roche collected 11 and Donnelly threw in 8 far below their averages. North never stopped fighting and outscored Central in the final period, but never was able to come close to the superior Bulldogs.
