Melissa Cruise, Recent Bride, Honored At Coffee Mrs. James R. McMurray and Mrs. James W. Patterson entertained in honor of a recent bride on Saturday morning at the McMurray home.

Mrs. Robert E. Cruise, Jr. the former Miss Melissa Haney, was the honored guest at a coltee given between the hours of 10 and 11:30. For the occasion Mrs.

Cruise wore a dress in a deep copper tone styled with a front buttoned closing and long full sleeves. In the living room the beautifully. appointed refreshment table was covered with a white linen cutwork cloth and decorated with a centerpiece arrangement of pink carnations and white mums in an antique silver bowl. Mrs. D.

M. Coats presided at the silver coffee service. After guests were served they assembled in the den where they enjoyed informal conversation. Recorded music played softly in the background. On the coffee table in the den a bouquet of miniature Tropicana roses added to the party setting.

Entertained with Mrs Cruise were her mother, Mrs. Joseph Haney, her husband's mother. Mrs. Robert E. Cruise, of Purvis, Mrs.

and Mrs. Fatheree Mr. and Mrs. Billy Cox honored their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs.

Fatheree, at a reception on the evening of Dec. 30 at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Rawls were cohosts.

Mrs. Fatheree is the former Karen Cox. The couple was on a short visit to Columbia. their first trip here since their marriage on August 12, 1972. at Alexandria, Va.

They now reside in Charlottesville, where Mr. Fatheres is attending law school at the University of Virginia. As guests arrived Miss Gin ger Cox, sister of the honoree, invited them to register at a table adorned with greenery and red berries and hurricane lamps holding red candles. Mrs. Wendell Cox, sister-inlaw of Mrs.

Fatheree, and Mrs. Ramie Eisworth, welcomed guests and presented them to the receiving line. For the occasion Mrs. Fath eree chose a floor-length dress styled with a bodice in a flor. al pattern of red and black and a black crepe skirt.

She wore a corsage of white carnations Mr. and Mrs. Cox receive. guests with the honored couple. A variety of party foods was served from a buffet table cov ered with a white cloth and decorated with red candles magnolia foliage, ivy, and rec berries.

At the center of the table a gold candelabrum held lighted red tapers and at each end of the table red tapers were placed in half-moon candieholders. Greenery and rec berries surrounded the crystal punch bowl. Stephanie Rawls served as tea girl. During the evening Bruce Rawls played a program of music.
