4-H Leadership Conference Set State 4-H Junior Leadership Conference, a highlight of the 4-H Club year in Mississippi, will be held June 18-21 at Mississippi State University, according to C. L. Smith, state 4-H Club leader of the Agricultural Extension Service. Eligible to attend the event, sponsored by United Gas, are two boys, two girls and an Extension Service agent from each of the state's 82 counties. The delegates are chosen for their accomplishments as junior 4-H leaders.

The 4-H'ers will lead in conducting the workshop sessions, general assemblies and other conference events. Workshop groups wil study the "what" and "how" of conducting a meeting, successful 4-H activities, junior leadership and human relationships. Instrucwill be given in career portunities and 4-H records. Assembly speakers will be Dr. W.

W. C. Beard, 54 Interred Friday Funeral services were held for Mr. Warren Columbus Beard, 54, of RFD Brandon, on Friday afternoon, June 7th, at 2:30 from the Morton Baptist Church with the Rev. J.

W. Maxie officiating, assisted the Rev. Charles Hollifield. Interment will be in the Hodge Hill Cemetery in Scott County with Ott and Lee Funeral Home in charge. Mr.

Beard pased away Thursday in the University Hospital in Jackson. He was a member of the Andrew Chapel Methodist Church in Brandon. The survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lucy Barr of Jackson, Mrs. Sadie Mae Craine of Jackson, and Mrs.

Bettie Jean Phillips of Brandon; three sons, Willette Beard, J. C. Murphy, both of Brandon, and Billy Ray Beard of Baton Rouge, nineteen grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Clifford Johnson of Knoxville, five brothers, Jim and Fount Beard, both of Vicksburg, Frank of Laurel, and Mack Beard of Morton, and Jeff Beard of Brandon; and his Mother, Mrs. Eula Beard of Brandon.

Pallbearers were Earl Henderson, D. L. Henderson, Freddie Johnson, Ray McCrory, Billy Beard, and Verne McCrory. SCHOOL OF ALCOHOL STUDIES The first Southeastern School of Alcohol Studies was held at Millsaps College, in Jackson, in August, 1961.
