The Indiana recipients were announced Monday and include three Purdue University intsruc-tors, five from Indiana University and one from Wabash College. Dr. Stephen G.

Kurtz, associate professor of history at Wabash, won a grant for studies in the political philosophy and statecraft of John Adams. The I.U. winners are: Dr. Ralph T. Daniel, associate professor of music, for study of the origin and development of the English anthem.

Dr. Irvin Ehrenpreis, associate professor of English, for study of the life of Jonathan Swift. Dr. Felix J. Oinas, assistant professor of Slavic languages and literatures, to research the relationship of Russian and Balto-Finnic folklore and linguistics.

Dr. Leo F. Solt, associate professor of history, to study the sectarian tracts of the Commonwealth and the Protectorate. Dr. Panayiotis J.

Vatikiotis, associate professor of government, for studies of the development of Egypt from 1800 to the present. Recipients from Purdue are: Dr. Seymour Benzer, professor of biophysics, genetic and biochemical studies of cellular control mechanisms. Dr. Ernst Bleuler, professor of physics, for studies in the field of high-energy physics.

Dr. Robert G. Hogan, assistant professor of English, for creative writing in drama.
