Vital statistics 10 Kokomo (Ind.) Tribune Monday, July 4, 1988 VivienneF. Carter GREENTOWN, Ind. Vivienne F. Carter, 93, Century Villa Health Care, died at 9:08 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 1988, at Saint Joseph Hospital Health Center, Kokomo.

Vivienne F. Carter She was born May 21, 1895, in Howard County, a daughter of William Sherman and Flora (Sater) Fowler. She was a 1913 graduate of Greentown High School and a 1917 graduate of Ball State University. She received a master's degree from Indiana University and did additional graduate work at Columbia University and Butler Uni- versity. She taught home economics at Union Township, Eastern, Russiaville and Warren Central High School in Indianapolis.

She retired from Elwood High School in 1955 and taught at Bridgeport, from 1955 to 1965 where she retired. She served with the 54th Womens' Army Corps during World War II, was a member of New Salem Friends Church, OES 195, Greentown American Legion Auxiliary and War Mothers, active in Greentown 4-H, Daughters of the American Revolution and Howard County Extension Homemakers. Surviving is a brother, Byron Fowler of Greentown, three grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one step-great- grandchild. One son, one daughter and one brother are deceased. Services will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at Hasler-Pickett Funeral Home in Greentown with the Rev. Lowell Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in Greentown Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Gregory E. Oliver, complaint on promissory note. First Source Bank vs. John and Catherine Wade, complaint on promissory note. From the court record Man pleads guilty A Kokomo man who fled but later surrendered himself in a 3- year-old burglary case pleaded guilty in Howard Superior Court 1.

In exchange for his plea, Larry Dean McElvoy is seeking a sentence of two years in prison, two years of probation and a fine of $100. Judge Dennis H. Parry is to rule on the plea agreement July 8. McElvoy, 23, is free on his own recognizance awaiting sentencing. He was charged March 5, 1985, with burglary as a Class felony for a residential burglary in northeast Howard County July 24, 1983.

A wooden bank containing $52.10 was taken in the break-in. An initial charge against McElvoy was dismissed by the court because information in the count was not signed by a former deputy prosecutor. The charge was amended and refiled May 2, 1985, and a trial date of June 24, 1986, scheduled. McElvoy, however, fled Kokomo and did not appear for his trial, and an arrest warrant was issued and a fugitive bond of $100,000 set. McElvoy surrendered himself to a Howard County adult probation officer last month.

15-year term meted A man who pleaded guilty to breaking into two private homes and a fishing accessory shop was sentenced in Howard Superior Court 1 to 15 years. Judge Dennis H. Parry imposed two terms of 10 years, to be served at the same time, and a sentence of five years, to be served consecutively with the 10 year sentences, against Thomas Shawn Fletcher, 20, 511 E. North St. He pleaded guilty in an agreement to residential break-ins Nov.

21, 1986, in the 3200 block of Touby Pike in which a jar containing an undetermined amount of coins and three gold chains valued at $985 were taken, and March 21,1987, in the 1300 block of North Purdum Street. The business break-in occurred last November at Bass Appliance, 834 E. Markland Ave. An estimated $180 was taken. The court meted 10 years for the residential burglaries and five years for the business break-in and credited 247 days against the sentence for the time Fletcher spent in pretrial incarceration.

The sentence included a court recommendation to the Indiana Department of Correction that Fletcher be assigned to the Indiana Youth Center and that he be evaluated for suspected drug addiction. 10,1969 a son of Fred W. and Phyllis J. (Conwell) Scott. He is a 1988 graduate of Western High School and a 1988 graduate of Kokomo Area Vocational School in Welding. He had lived in the Russiaville area since 1972.

He was employed at Monon Trailer Manufacturing in Monon, Ind. Survivors include brothers Tom Smith of Russiaville, David Long of Kokomo, William Scott of Kokomo, Fred Scott and Kevin Scott, both of Galveston, two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Keller of Russiaville and Kelly M. Scott, at home, and maternal grandmother, Frances Conwell of Kokomo. Services will be at Stout Son Funeral Home in Russiaville at 2 p.m.

Wednesday with the Revs. David Johns and Jim Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 1:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

"Kenny" Wilson Alexander K. "Kenny" Wilson, 58, 1616 Meadowbrook Drive, died at 3:13 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 1988, at Howard Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Ferguson, a son of Alexander K.

and Clara (Eversmeyer) Wilson Sr. Sept. 2, 1950, he married Mary Frances Crain, who survives. He graduated from Central High School in Charlotte, N.C., and attended Indiana University. He was employed at Indiana Bell Telephone Co.

for 10 years and was employed at Delco Electronics Department 893 for 24 years. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church and Loyal Order of the Moose. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Richard K. Wilson of Indianapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Benfield and Mildred Lieb of Asheville, N.C.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Albright Cemetery with Dr. J. David Griffin officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m.

Tuesday at Fenn Funeral Home. Frank W. Kern Frank W. Kern, 90, 420 W. Mulberry died at 3:40 a.m.

Sunday, July 3, 1988 at Forest Park Health Care Center. Born Sept. 2, 1897, in Beaver Dam, he was the son of William and Almetia Kern. He was married Jan. 20, 1938 to Mildred Bradley, who survives.

Frank Kern Kern had been in the travel industry in Kokomo since 1929, and retired in 1968. He owned the Kern Travel Agency for 45 years. Kern was a pioneer in the commercial transportation industry, establishing one of the first bus lines in Indiana. Professionally, he had been a member of the Indiana Motor Bus Association and had served on the board of directors. He was a member of the Association of Retail Travel Agents and had served as national treasurer.

Kern founded the Kokomo Travel Club in 1959, and the world-traveler went around the world several times. Kern was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a 50- year member of Howard Lodge No. 93, a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and a member of Murat Temple of Indianapolis. He was a former member of the Kokomo Chamber of Commerce and had served on its board of directors. Kern was also a member of the Kokomo Rotary Club and served on its board of directors, and was a 54- year member of American Legion Post 6.

He was a life member of Kokomo Elks Lodge No. 190, and was a member of the old Blue Cross Coffee Club. Kern was an Army veteran of World War I. In addition to his wife Mildred, also surviving are two sons, Fred Kern of Upland, Ind. and Jack Kern of Kokomo; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Kern of Rochester, and one sister May Kern of Rochester, Ind.

One sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fenn Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Mayer and Rev. Val Harris officiating.

Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Masonic service will be observed at 7 p.m.

Tuesday at the funeral home. Billy Sullivan TIPTON, Ind. Billy Sullivan, 34, 130 Maple Tipton, was found dead at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, July 2,1988, in Morse Reservoir in Hamilton County. He was born Oct.

16, 1953, in Tipton, a son of Joe and Buelah (Phillips) Sullivan. On April 7, 1978, he married Delora Boes, who survives. He was employed at Woods Wire. Surviving in addition to his father, Joe, of Tennessee, and mother, Buelah, of Tipton, are his wife, Delora, and daughters Mandy, Holly, Misty and Heidi, at home. Also surviving are brothers Ronnie, Donnie and Lonnie, of Tennessee, Bobby of Tipton, and a half-sister, Joyce Green, of Florida.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Salsbery officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m.

"Moose" Welcher, 74, 12514 W. Road 200 South, Russiaville, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, July 3, 1988, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Arrangements are pending at Ellers Mortuary.

Rosena A. Roswog TIPTON, Ind. Rosena A. Roswog, 87, St. Joseph Motherhouse, Died July 2, 1988, at 4:15 p.m.

at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 18, 1900, in Tarentum, daughter of Christian and Lucy (Case) Roswog. She was the oldest and last surviving memeber of her family. She began her career as housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo and from 1954 to 1977 was housekeeper for her brother, the Rev.

Edward Roswog. In 1977, she became housekeeper for other parishes. She retired in 1980 to the Motherhouse. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was proceeded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Motherhouse in Tipton with the Rev. Robert Williams Officiating.

Concelebrants will be the Mons- ingors Leo Hoffman, Sylvester Klein and Henry Ward. Burial will be at Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at Ellers Mortuary from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday where a Scripture service and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. with the Rev.

George Plaster officiating. Friends also may call one hour before the service at the Motherhouse.
