Church Notes service Guild Members Hold Meeting Mrs. Russell White was hostess Monday evening to members of the Wesleyan Service Guild of the Methodist church. Among the 26 in attendance were these guests, Mrs. Bill Tompklns, Mrs. Jennie Daniels and Mrs.

Arvel Covey. Mrs. John Humphreys, president, opened the meeting with a New Year's poem, followed by prayer. After a short businens meeting, Mrs. Humphreys gave the lesson on "The Golden Cord of She was assisted by Mrs.

Addle Cooper, Mrs. Bill TompWns and Mrs. Joel Grubb. Mrs. Ethel Leslie gave the devotional entitled "The Role of the Christian African Woma'n." The Guild voted to give $5 toward buying books for the Sunday school teachers library Mrs.

Van Chapman called attem tion to the church wide school of missions, which will begin with a covered dish supper at the church Sunday Jan. loth. It Was announced the study book to be used this, year is entitled "The Church and Medical Missions." Mrs. Chapman closed the meet- teg with prayer. During the social hour all members and guests participated in a silent auction sale.

Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Ethel Leslie and Mrs. John Humphreys. Harvey Circle Will Meet Tomorrow The Harvey Circle of the First Baptist will meet at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the home of Mrs. Alva Phillips, 430 Elm street.

Holds Meeting in Home Of Mrs. Joseph Stewart Group I of the CWF of the First Christian church met Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the home of Mrs. Joseph Stewart. Sixteen members present. The presided over by Mrs.

Arnett Winn, leader, opened with the CWF prayer. Devotional "The Higher was given by Mrs. Paul Burton and the lesson on "Africa as a continent" wes presented by Mrs. Ross Dlehl. The meeting closed with the CWF bene diction.

Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. H. R. Butcher. Castrodale.

Animated discussions were engaged in this study ot Psalms, all of which proved very rewarding. Entertains Group 4 Of The Christian Women's Fellowship Mrs. John T. Duer was hostess Monday evening to 18 members of Group 4 of the Christian Women's Fellowship of the First Christian Church. Mrs.

L. L. Beaivd, president, presided. Mrs. Kenneth Roath gave the devotional topic, "Something More." The missionary lesson on Africa was presented by Miss be! Matson.

The meeting was closed with the Fellowship benediction. During the social hour refreshments were served by Mrs. Duer. Group of C.W.F, Meets Group of the C.W.F. of the First Christian Church met Monday evening in the home of Mrs.

Frank Shannon. Seventeen members were present. Mrs. Charles Emerich was assisting hostess. The meeting was opened with prayer led by the leader, Mrs.

Bob Goss. Mrs. Carl Corf gave the devotional taken from the fourth chapter of Luke. Members voted to send a dessert basket around among themselves for a money-making project, The article, "The Very Thing You Need" from the World Call was given by Mrs. Robert Wildman.

The study lesson on Southern Africa was presented by Mrs. Lawrence Blackstun. The meeting closed with the C.W.F. benediction. POOSEY Breakfast and Meeting in Home of Mrs.

G. W. VanHorne Group 2 of the Christian Worn en's Fellowship met Tuesday morning at 9:00 in the home of Mrs. G. W.

VanHorne. Mrs. Edith was the assistant hostess. Twelve members enjoyed hot rolls and coffee before the meeting. The leader, Mrs.

Truman Ward, gave the announcements and told that the Blessing boxes would be turned in again at the April meet- Ing. Devotional, using the subject, Toward Tomorrow, was given by Mrs, Ken Rinehai-t. Mrs. Burt Butler had charge of the lesson on the Union of South Africa. Meeting closed with the Fellowship benediction.

Miss Lycia Martin, Hostess to Jessie Broaddus Circle UPW On the afternoon of January 5th the Jssie Broaddus circle UPW met in the home of Miss Lycia Martin, :606 Webster street with majority of the members'in attendance.
