Six received special awards while Leo Butler (third from right) was honored as past president of the Alumni Association. The honorees were (left to right), Dr. Charles Romine, Jefferson County administrator; Dr. Eldon Baker, director of communications research, University of Montana; J. Osborne Johnson, director of industrial education, Denver Public Schools; Miss Wilma Scott, retired Greeley elementary principal; Dr. William Harlman, CSC director of public services; and Dr. John C. Johnson, nationally known Denver biologist. (CSC photo) FIRST PLACE IN GREEK DIVISION"Winning Weather" was the theme of this float, which was awarded first place in the Greek division of the Colorado State College homecoming parade Saturday morning. The float was the entry of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. This year the fraternities and sororities worked together'in' building floats for the parade...There were. decorations except at some of the dormitories and at one organization, the Newman Center. Participating in the parade were 17 bands. The winning junior high band was from Sinclair Junior High in Englewood. Winners in the high school band A division was the Greeley West band. Roosevelt High band from Johnstown-Milliken captured the B division and College High look the C division. (CSC photo by Bob Waters) SECOND PLACE IN GREEK DIVISION- Second 'place in the Greek division of the Colorado State College homecoming parade Saturday went lo the entry of'the Acacia fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority. Title of the second-place float was "A Bear Victory Is Like the Passing of Time--A Sure Thing." General theme of the parade was "Time in Motion." Given honorable mention was the float with the theme "A Small Step for a Touchdown and a Great Step for Victory," entered by Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and Sigma, Sigma, Sigma sorority. (CSC photo by Bob .Waters) I uirl Claims v\an Raped, Robbed Her An 18-year-old girl told sheriff's officers early Sunday norning that she had been 'aped and robbed of $300. She said she was at the Post n Pike and a young man de- cribed as blond and wearing a sweater offered to take her lome. Instead they went about six miles east on 8th Street vhere she was attacked and ·obbed. The girl then went to the Herman Hoff farm seeking help. It was he who called the Sheriff's office. City Traffic Accidents Three persons were reported injured in separate accidents Sunday. The injuries were apparently minor. Vernice Stedwell, 2644 13th Ave., received a shoulder injury in an accident at 6:24 p.m. Sunday at llth Avenue and. 8th Street. She was a passenger in i 1968 sedan driven by Burl Stedwell, 2644 13lh Ave., which received $375 damage. The second car involved was ,, 1962 sedan driven by David Valcott, Golden, which received 1400 damage. Lois Hovver, 2448 8th St., was reported injured in an accident at 5:38 p.m. Sunday at Slh Avenue and 22nd Street. She was a passenger in a 1961 edan driven by Carl Johnson, 307 4th St., which received 300 damage. The two other ve- . liclcs involved were a 1958 · edan driven by Keith Mont- : 'ornery, Denver, which receiv- d $250 damage, and a 1957 edan driven by Pamela Juarez, 17. 31st Ave., which received 300 damage. Cheryl Cooper, 525 26th Ave. t., was injured in an accident t 4:36 p.m. Sunday at 23rd Ave- ue and 25th Street. She was a assenger in a 1951 sedan driven y James Cooper, 525 26th Ave. Ct., which received $225 damage. The second car involved was a 1957 sedan driven by Charles Northrup, 2602 23rd Ave., which eceived $150 damage. Six non-injury accidents were eported on Greeley streets Sat- Jrday and Sunday.
