Wednesday, Februarys. 1975 - w Veterans' benefits exempt from taxes BOISE-llerc are tips from Ihe Veterans Administration on federal income laxes for veterans filing returns. · In gencrnl, veterans benefits are exempt from federal income lax and need not be reported as income, according to Harold L. Kiiyper.directorof Ihe Boise VA regional office. This income tax exemption applies to dividends and proceeds from government life insurance policies, but federal estate lax does apply to insurance proceeds. Also, interest earned on government life insurance dividends left on deposit or credit with VA is considered income and must be reported on federal income tax returns. Ihe VA director said. James Applegate and Paul Donaldson of Ihe BSU geology department will supervise Ihe geophysical work, while Dr. Lcland Mink of (he Idaho Bureau of Mines'and Geology will oversee the invesligalion. Once the sites are chosen, the drilling phase of the project will begin. Nichols said between six and eight experimental wells will be drilled, wilh additional wells planned for future development.
